Absolutely the worst textbook I have ever seen
This book is basically the well-known veterinary epidemiololgist Dirk Pfeiffer's class notes printed bound into a book. It is chock full of errors; does not completely define and explain simple concepts; and very often, a paragraph will cut off mid-thought, almost like the author forgot to finish writing. Most of the figures are completely useless because they do not reinforce the reader's understanding of the material. In most cases, they are just dumbed-down, over-simplified renditions of a single passage--they remind me of those idiotic PowerPoint slides that you might find in a corporate team-building exercise! There are free resources on the internet (e.g. at Massey University) that can replace this book. If you are looking for a full understanding of epidemilogical concepts, you will need a good introductory book on applied statistics and a different book than this. I would feel guilty even selling this book back because its content is inherently defective.
