A good revision guide with a focus on preparing the students for the actual exam. Helps to practise key skills that will be needed for the exam. Would recommend.

The first half of this workbook deals with the basic use of language - such as sentence structure, paragraphs and grammar -and the second covers non-fictional and and creative writing. It is a useful book not just for English as it is bound to help in presentation and clarity for exams in lots of other subjects too. It is for self-sufficient learners who like to challenge themselves as your progress is not monitored or judged and the answers are all in the back of the book. The exam practices and hints and tips on timing and technique are bound to translate into extra marks which could mean a difference in grades. Good value too.

These revision books are very helpful both for homework and revision Especially bei split into the two types of paper so more reflective of what the real questions might be phrased like especially as the new style exams are still relatively new. My daughter is doing her GCSEs this time and finds them helpful to work through potential questions and answers.

This is undoubtedly great value for a quality, colour and engaging work book. It covers all areas of the writing exam, as per the AQA board, in both fiction and non-fiction. There is plenty of place to write and a good variety of questions. The section on SPAG is particularly good - and will be of use to students for all subjects, beyond English. There is a good variety of creative and non-fiction questions too. Due to the nature of these, the answers are probably less useful than they would be for another paper - I would suggest that this book is best used if an objective peer or adult is able to review the answers. A good resource, but less useful than others in the series due to the nature of the exam.
