I used to buy the regular PaperMate ones, but I think their quality has gone downhill--they started drying out really fast and I felt like I was constantly needing to buy more. So I switched to these pens, and I've been really pleased. Unlike the PaperMate ones, I haven't had a single one of these pens dry out on me. Actually, what has killed these pens, when they eventually go, is that the tip itself wears down. I'm satisfied with how long these last (and I hand-write quite a bit) and how smoothly and darkly they write. I wasn't very fond of the fine point at first, but I came around to it and now I like it better than the PaperMate's thicker tip. I don't find these quite as comfortable to hold due to the completely straight barrel, but that's my only complaint.
