ESEE Knives 3P-MB Fixed Blade Knife w/Molded Polymer Sheath & MOLLE Back (Black Blade/Coyote Brown Sheath/MOLLE Back)

Sharpest knife I have ever seen or used. The grips feel great, the sheath is nice, the coating on the blade is amazingly tough feeling. I would not hesitate to trust my life to this knife. Update: So It's been a while. This sheath is the worst sheath I have ever experienced in a knife. In the intended configuration it rides WAY too high and digs into your side any time you sit down. Even altering it so it rides lower, it still digs into your side. The knife is amazing, mine is still factory sharp with rather light use over the last 4 years. But seriously, this is the absolute worst design for a sheath I have ever encountered in a knife.

Great value compared to other brands. Sheath is tight and hold the blade tightly and the MOLLE backing plate is very nice quality. Comes with a belt plate as well.

Great ergo's and very sharp out of the box. I love the Micarta scales against the black blade. It has been excellent through use and has stood up to everything I've thrown at it. Really the only con that I see is the sheath system .... I ended up getting a scout carry Kydex sheath for it.

This is and the esee 6 are the first things I replaced when my last 2 were stolen along with my hunting pack full of gear. These knives are durable as heck. Finish, ergonomics and strength are unmatched for the price. Esee 3 is my hunting EDC and the 6 is the camp boss. If I had to chose only 1 it would be the 3 as the 6 is a little much to carry with all my other gear. These are Badass knives & won’t disappoint.

My new favorite knife. I used it to field dress deer this season, and it was a work horse.

UPDATE 2: I couldn't do it. I wanted to keep it but there is no way for me to use it away from water. I would at the very least wash it and having to do maintenance and oiling it just a pain in the neck in the long run. I can see myself doing it for a cast iron cookware or something but for a sharp knife, no. This is a beautiful knife, but unfortunately it's not working out for me. It's not you, it's me. I also got the ESEE 4 440C stainless steel and I am going to keep that one instead. UPDATE: I used it to cut some pear and afterward I washed it in the sink. I spend a max of 5 to 10 minute washing it and after I wipe it dry I immediately noticed rust forming on the blade edge. I am still keeping it cause I paid a good price for it. I will probably keep it away from water. It's still the real deal but I had to remove 1 star because it rusts too easily. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I bought the Rat 3 few weeks ago but I hated it cause the blade was so dull. I was hoping it would be the same quality as the ESEE but it wasn't. Before this I actually bought the ESEE 3 knock off CIMA 1. It was pretty well made but I still wanted an ESEE. I ended up buying the ESEE 4 stainless from knifeworks.com and getting the ESEE 3 here on Amazon. I like this knife. Size wise this is pretty much the same as the Rat 3 except the handle is a little longer. The Rat 3 arrived extremely dull and I hated it. The QC is just bad. This knife, however, arrived very well built and is sharp. I didn't pay attention at first and I thought this was the one that had the pointy pommel that you can break glass with. But no, this is the round off pommel. I guess you can still break glass with it. But you might just have to hit it a few more times. Over all I am satisfied with the purchase. This one was a little cheaper compare to the other ESEE 3. This package comes with the Molle back as well. So this is a great package. I will buy this over the Rat 3 again and again.
