Just what I needed!
I bought this product to protect my entry doors from the wrath and joy of my little rescue dog. When the doorbell rings, Max claws at the front door and jamb in a fury, trying to get to whoever dared to ring the bell. Also, when I return home through the garage, he claws at the laundry room door and trim in excitement. My wooden doors were originally stained a dark color, which hid the evidence of his scratching pretty well. However, I recently painted the doors white, and realized Max was likely to ruin the new paint if I didn't take some precautionary measures. I looked at several similar items on amazon, but the Clawguard seemed to offer the best protection to both the door and jamb. It is very easy to install by slipping it over the doorknob. I haven't used the Velcro stabilizer yet, since the paint needs 30 days to cure before sticking anything to the door. However, it is already having the desired effect. I hung it with the smooth side to the door, and Max doesn't like the sound or feel of his claws on the textured side. Even if they didn't bother him, the Clawguard is designed in such a way that he can't push or scratch it out of the way of either the door or jamb. Of course, I do need to point out that Max weighs only 15 pounds and doesn't have the physical force of a larger dog. But for my purposes, the Clawguard works very well and is doing exactly what I hoped it would: keeping my energetic boy from ruining the doors and trim. My front door opens inward, which makes it very easy to use the Clawguard. My laundry room door opens outward, which requires a bit of maneuvering to close the door behind me as I leave. However, the Clawguard is flexible enough to allow me to gently push it inward as I close the door. I used strong scissors to trim the upper corners, rounding them off a bit so they don't catch my clothes as I walk by. This product has certainly saved the appearance of my doors and trim. I'm pleased enough with the performance and durability of the Clawguard that I hope to purchase a third one soon to protect my back door after painting it. I would recommend this product to anyone having a problem with their dog scratching their doors and trim.

Works for our 10 lb maltipoo
Good for small dogs, our 10 lb maltipoo does occasionally scratch on it and it easily protects our door. It came rolled up in a box so I had to leave it outside in the sun, under some heavy books to flatten it out. It's still not perfectly flat but it does the job fine. Because it isn't fully flat and there is a bit of bowing out, our dog started to bite at that area and unfortunately the plastic has experienced more damage from the biting rather than the scratching. I also set it up with the smooth side out as I think the textured side might encourage him to scratch more. Some people complained about this being too long or not wide enough, but this was the perfect length and width for our needs. It's easily removed from the round door knobs and very easy to set up, just need to pop it back in. Not sure how they would fare on long door handles. All in all, it seems to be very durable and is much cheaper than having to replace a door or frame.

Not worth the money. Dog took it down easily.
Don't waste your money if your dog has separation anxiety and wants to open the door you install this on. I purchased the Clawguard to prevent my 1-year-old poodle mix from scratching the paint off my bathroom door. He has separation anxiety and tends to bark, whine, and scratch the door (on and off) for 20-30 minutes max before giving up and falling asleep. I installed the product on the inside of my bathroom door and secured it with the tiny velcro adhesive (provided) as instructed. I left my dog in the bathroom for about 2 hours. When I came back, the Clawguard was on the floor with bite marks on one side, and the velcro adhesive that was stuck to the door was no longer there. The product does not hold well on the door as my dog obviously just bit the side and pulled it down. If anything, I think the flimsiness of the plastic exacerbated his anxiety and caused him to fight more to get the product off the door handle. The "noise control" option does not control noise at all. It just means that you can install it with the smooth side of the plastic facing outside so your dog's nails don't scratch against a rough surface. There will still be a gap between the door and the plastic, so if you or your dog push against the guard, it'll move back and forth and make a sound if it hits the door itself (imagine the sound of plastic hitting a hard surface over and over again). A small piece of velcro isn't going to keep the guard in place. The concept was good (simple installation, no hardware for anchoring, etc.), but the design definitely needs work. As it is today, the product is definitely not worth the $25.

Very decent door & frame dog scratch protection
We have a small 12 lb terrier mix that has separation anxiety. She was really scratching the door and the frame badly. This product did the trick. It's not the most attractive thing to hang on your door. However, after a couple of weeks it seems to be holding up OK. I had to make a new door handle hole as the original one left the bottom of the door exposed. But I was able to make a new hole higher up so that now it covers the door all the way down to the floor. One minor bother was that it came folded in two, which left a slight bend in the plastic. So, as I said it's not super attractive, but it's better than having your door all scratched up. I didn't even have to bother with attaching the bottom with velcro. It comes with a tiny velcro dot for this purpose but it looked pretty useless. But it hasn't been an issue. I would recommend it.

Does the job but could be improved
The reason for buying this was so that my dogs would not scratch my door more than they already have. So with that said it did the job, however, the product is cheap looking. It hangs from the door knob and blocks the deadbolt lock so it’s not that practical. It came with a tiny square 3M Sticky tape that was supposed to keep the plastic in place but it wasn’t strong enough and came off quickly.

My retriever pulled and ripped it down and destroyed within a couple days, chewed all the edges. The tiny piece of velcro that stuck it to door isn't strong enough at all.

Overpriced and ineffective. Kept falling off.

Great product to stop our dog from scratching the door. Easy to cut to adjust to your door size. Works well !
