I once worked at a full service garage and in that time became familiar with Snap-on and Matco tools and the difference they make. Now I am a Journeymen Tool and Die Maker and thus dont use handtools enough to warrant spending the sums of money those truck brands want. However I still want something that is going to last a lifetime and performs well. SK products are the perfect balance of quality and cost. Definitely better then Craftsmen in form and function and on par with truck brands in function. Form is where you sacrifice when compared to truck brands. Take a close look at SK tools and you will notice the occasional burr under the chrome or stamping that isnt a consistent depth. No matter to me though! Tools still look great, feel great, and function wonderfully.

My new favourite spanner set. These are definitely heirloom quality tools that should last generations.They are slightly shorter than the Beta (Italian made) set I own, but about the same size as the older Australian made Sidchrome set I have .The price on Amazon was to tempting to pass up,(Less than similar size made in Taiwan sets) and even though I didn't really need them, I'm glad I got them. Theyre not quiet as highly engineered as Snap on, e.g. no flank drive or similar on the open end. My sets finish is flawless. They come on a nice rack that looks and feels identical to Ernst Manufacturing racks. So glad we have easy access to products like this in Australia now, as companies like SK, Proto, Wright, Williams etc don't have distributors here, and they're to heavy to have viably shipped from US, so thanks Amazon.

I bought these as a used set. They were brand new but looks to have had the plating inside the box ends touched up on a few wrenches but I can't be certain...it just looks dull and hand painted in a few spots...but again, inside the box ends and I can re-touch up if needed. So far so good. I see a few reviews of plating issues. They were half price so I'm happy. Check youtube...these get great reviews and are compared with Snap-on and MAC etc.

These combination wrenches are a great buy for the price and they're still made in the USA. I was a little worried about purchasing them since they are now are owned by ideal but they seem to still be top notch. I am slowly converting my tool collection over from craftsman since they started to make their tools in china. People really need to look at where their tools are made and make an effort to support American manufacturing. Sk tools may be slightly higher priced than craftsman but it is well worth the few extra bucks. I've also read that some people are not happy with the warrantee since ideal took over but when was the last time a hand tool really failed when it was used properly? Don't hesitate to purchase an SK tool I would highly recommend them the fit and finish are exceptional for the price.
