Solid effort. Needs refinement.
As a soldier, avid outdoorsman and firearms instructor, I have encountered many packs and range bags. My initial impressions of this one are that it is a very good idea and a remarkable bargain for such quality at under $70. Upon receiving it, I expended an entire aerosol can of waterproofing on its inside and outside. It is tightly and strongly made, and there are many nooks and crannies. The product video will help some purchasers assemble it. True, it is not an ideal backpack, but it can certainly be carried short distances. More importantly, it is a great disguise. I live in a high rise situated in a university town where backpacks are ubiquitous and firearms are not universally loved. I wish I had ordered the green one. Even in brown, it attracts no attention in elevators, hallways, parking lots, etc. It needs, as other reviewers mention, external Molle attachment strips, and all of the velcro should to be about twice as wide. The initial design appears to originate with competitive shooters - thus the many magazine loops, stapler pouch, etc., that are useful for those who want to score points in shooting games. Of the five external pockets, three are the same small size, just right for competitors' magazines, but impractical for much else. Two of these could usefully be replaced with a single, general-purpose pocket. Happily, more serious shooters with practical goals will find that the pack's fundamental design allows much customization. To accommodate the procedures of an indoor range where I often teach, I have added an external earmuff container and a tube to contain rolled targets of the appropriate size. If the pack holds up under hard use, I'll probably buy another in green and set it up for outdoor ranges. By then, this company or a competitor may offer a similar pack with more adaptable features.. As it is, even with a few shortcomings, this is a solid piece of gear at a very favorable price.

Best Range Bag I've Owned - Expect These Issues Though
I just received this bag, set it up, and took it to the range for the first time. Overall, it's the best range bag I've used. It's extremely durable, you can customize the compartments to fit your gear, and it'll hold a LOT of stuff... mine has 3 pistols, extra mags, glasses and ear muffs, auto loaders, lots of ammo, colored target dots, holsters, and more... and there's still WAY more room. The bag even feels extremely light given the amount of gear in it... my last bag was much smaller and felt much heavier, and it was one of typical "range" style bags. All in all, I'm very happy, but that doesn't mean the bag is perfect.First, the bag comes "un-assembled." It's not in a million pieces, but all the compartments and other pieces do have to be put together, and mine didn't come with any instructions. It's not the biggest deal, but I did have questions as I was putting it together, such as "is this partition backwards? If it is, will that impact anything later on?" The second issue to be aware of is that the color of my bag doesn't look like it does on Amazon. I ordered the Coyote Tan colorway and it looks more like a dark baby-puke green. It's not the most attractive color, but hey, I'm not using the bag to get laid, so it's not the end of the world... and it's still pretty much a military color. I can't say what the green or black bags look like in real life, but you'll probably happier ordering one of those colors instead of tan. The final and biggest issue is that - if you plan to wear it as a backpack, the straps don't stay firmly in place. Even while I try to slip the two straps around my arms, they frequently get pulled loose from the buckle, rendering it useless as a backpack. I'm going to have to superglue the straps to the buckle or come up with some other fix.Now that I've given the good and the bad, let me stress that this is by far the best range bag I've owned, and I would buy it again in a heartbeat. With all the extra room, I guess I'll just have to buy more guns to fill it up.

Not taking it down range, just TO the range
I like this pack. I looked at the higher priced ones after seeing one (safariland I believe) at the shooting range one day. I have had a regular range bag for years, but I found out I needed a backpack type after seeing the other one. As it says in the headline, I wouldn't take this on a deployment- it would get shredded. But for making sure you have everything you need for a trip to shoot? Absolutely recommended. I set it up without using all the dividers (which there are plenty btw) and I have targets, ammo, spotting scope, tools, everything I need that I can carry on my back and free up a hand to carry other stuff.

Trial and error
This is an awesome range bag! My only real complaint is it doesn't come with ANY instructions or ideas on how to assemble it. You have to install a board in the bottom, a divider between the top and bottom and figure how all the pieces fit together. Once you are done it is definitely a great piece of equipment for heading to the range!

This is a great bag for the range
This is a great bag for the range. There are some reviews on here about how it comes disassembled, is difficult to put together, and there are no directions. I'm glad I read those reviews because I was prepared when the bag arrived. The most difficult part might have been aligning the vertical dividers due to the Velcro. But, I had a plan. After installing the horizontal center divider (separating the top from the bottom) I just put a piece of thin card stock on the bottom of the compartment then held another at the top to cover the velcro while I aligned the vertical dividers. Once I had them in place, I slipped the card stock out and pressed the velcro into place. I did the bottom compartment first and then the top. Overall I really like the bag.
