Learn to use it, you'll be happier!
This is my first metal cutting saw. WIll admit, I didn't know these were a thing, and had been using my Milwaukee abrasive saw to cut through angle iron and pipe for the last few years. While looking for new abrasive discs is when I stumbled on to seeing metal cutting carbide-tipped blades. Holy grenades! But these saws spin slow enough to NOT through the carbide inserts out - and cut without freaking out the user. This is a nice to use and sane saw. It's an idea replacement for an abrasive or as a first saw for a person new to cutting metal like this. I don't think this is an ideal match for an experienced user - get one that can compound cut. this can angle cut but that's it. it's good from a bit over 45 degrees to 90. only angles in one direction. SUPER powerful motor - keeps cutting even with a new guy using it ... not quite right. after ruining one blade, I finally figured out to let the saw take what it wants, and that it's not going to cut the same as an abrasive blade. it's faster, that's for sure, but you don't need to pressure it like abrasive discs.

really good saw.
So, I bought this after buying the wrong chop saw. I needed something that could work with nailed boards. Basically, I got a bunch of heat-treated pallets that I am using for an outside project. Some of the boards I was not able to get the nail nubs and broken bits out. So, I got this bad boy after seeing the video on here and became convinced this is what I needed. I do a lot of DYI projects at my house and am currently working on an open-air hot house and a country styled plank fence. Some of the pallet material is not good for building anything but will make good fire wood. The problem is that the unusable bits are chock full of nails that will not budge. looking at the problem the saw is perfect for this. I wanted to see what the saw blade can do so I tested it on some scrap material first cut some metal then some wood then some wood with nails. the cuts were clean as my planer. even with the metal bits no burrs to worry about. Only suggestion to people is do your cuts slow do not force it down quick if you want a good clean cut. Though unlike the video mine did not come put together out of the box. Though it was easy to put the blade on and then set it up. I believe that this is a good saw and for the price its almost one of those things that seem like it would be too good to be true but the dang thing works as advertised. I just have to get a couple of extra blades for it and I might pick up one of their blades for my table saw.

Excellent value with minor problems
This saw is not priced with the higher end saws and the details of higher end saws won't be found on this unit. First and most people buy these saws to cut steel and in that regard this saw cuts metal with the supplied multi-material blade really well so huge thumbs up in the single most important area. That's about it for the pluses though, great price and very good at cutting metal if you cut responsibly (slowly). On the negative list nothing in particular is a deal breaker but they add up and your taste may vary. First the material clamp has no speed mechanism, on most decent metal saws there is a lever that will allow you to slide the clamp in up to the piece then start twisting it tight. Not here, you have a TON of screwing to do. Second, there is essentially zero chip collection and just barely above zero chip deflection. Third, the geometry is off on the blade guard. It's meant to open as the blade approaches the base of the saw but the angle that the mechanism first engages makes the initial opening of the guard very difficult and you will find that you have to heavily lean onto the handle to get it to start opening the guard so you can cut. A couple of these negatives are pretty substantial to me which is why I didn't give it five stars, in fact it is so capable at cutting I didn't give it the three stars it probably deserves. It cuts really well and if you don't mind having to deal with some minor headaches EVERY time you use the saw, then this saw is an excellent value. If I had it do over again I would probably spring the extra $100-$200 for a saw that is a step above this one but that being said I don't regret buying this saw because it does an excellent job at actually cutting.

Bought this saw instead of the abrasive saws. This one cuts cold and leaves little chunks of steel shavings instead of making a huge cloud of abrasive dust. Very minimal sparks as opposed to abrasive disk saws. Great guy and one of the cheapest priced cold cuts you will find on the market today!
