Incredible saw
So I read through the reviews and thought people were being a little over the top with their reviews. That ended up not being the case, this saw cuts fantastic, if you can run a circular saw for wood you can run this saw through metal. It shows pictures of people cutting square tubing but it didn’t do very well through that in my opinion, chop saw is much better rated for that application. I cut up a 5’x10’ sheet of 3/8” steel plate like I knife through butter. The saw is very loud and throws metal chips everywhere so I recommend and face shield and ear plugs, rolling magnet makes clean up easy. When buying a replacement blade make sure to buy the 20mm bore blade that is the goofy size it takes. Great saw wish blades were a little cheaper.

Very Nice Unit!!
I was skeptical when I needed something to cut up steel drums. Sawzall didn't work, band saw has very limited cutting depth, cut off wheel took too long. I looked into this and it did NOT disappoint. I can cut up a 55g drum in about a minute. The only thing I'd recommend beyond safety glasses and face shield would be welding sleeves and a welding hood (made of leather) to protect. While cutting I could feel pieces of metal hitting my neck under my face shield. (I was NOT using a vacuum but there is an attachment that could draw off I believe. Another positive was very low sparking while cutting. The only time I saw sparking was when I held back the guard and lowered the blade into metal. I also cut some 1/4" steel vessels and it was a nice clean cut. Very Impressive!!

Changed review.
Blades that come with the saw are short life. Other 7 1/4 saw blades will not fit the saw. It needs an adapter. Wish that I had purchased a different saw. // After I called Evolution customer service I have had to change my review. The rep was extremely courteous. They make an adapter for this saw and are in the process of sending me one. What was really great is how so very easy and uncomplicated it was to resolve my problem. I wish some of our utility companies and other providers made dealing with them as easy as this was. I am 67 years old. No stress is best. I am very very happy now. Thanks Evolution.

For the price, I would buy it again. Build a simple crosscut jig to get square cuts.
I have been using this to build an OHV tent trailer, and it has been very useful. Most of my cutting involves square tubes up to 2x2 inches with a 1/4-inch thickness. I found that it doesn’t cut very square when used freehand, but I easily fixed this by building a simple cross-cut jig. The jig not only ensures square cuts but also makes repetitive cuts fast and easy. I would have given it 5 stars if the included blade had lasted longer. I’m considering building a jig to sharpen the old blade for future use alongside the replacement blade I purchased.

No Spark cutting
Cutting with disks is practically over if you get this saw. Also my disk chop saw isn’t even being used. When you use the Evolution Saw you get the cleanest and straightest smooth cut ever, better than even a oily band saw cut, that you don’t even have to grind or fix up. My first cut through 2” 1/8” wall square tubing just left me there in awe.. I wish i had this 10 years ago! Be sure and watch some videos on how to make the best use of your new blade..good info about that..The blade is flat out amazing. The lower 3900 rpm the saw is also key to the cutting too. A regular skill saw’s 5900rpm won’t be nice to just buying a Evolution blade for it. Get this saw, it has a a better visual for watching your cut, and is ten times lighter than a worm drive anyway. Don’t be fooled by how light this saw is! It cuts metal like wood basically. I love cutting plate now, there’s practically zero sparks and zero grinding dust. Some projects i have been sitting on are now all cut and ready to weld. That’s how much fun and hassle free this saw is.

Smells like electrical fire and quickly developed bad shake.
Very experienced metal fabricator. Used the saw this week for the first time after receiving (return window closed). Saw smells like an electrical fire every time you run it, and has developed a shake (bad bearing?) after 20 minutes of use. Between the burning smell and the horrible shake, It’s trash.

This saw works better than I expected.
Cut 1/4 in steel plate very well no binding when cutting. Great tool to have for metal work.

Metal cutter
Bought this to cut roof tin to size and after the first cut was made perfectly straight and little to no sparks cut thru several sheets at a time was by far worth the cost and will soon buy the miter saw for cutting metal as well . Highly recommend these tools
