Worked well for my lathe so far.
I just bought this to get my DC motor to run faster for Lathe. Works great. I wired e-stop switch to the run terminals on power supply, replacing jumper. Replaced a 55 volt PS and PWM controller that burned out and had no high end. I am concerned about limited ampacity, but it works so far. No reversing feature, so added DPDT cross wired switch for pole reversing.

Great replacement for Grizzly controller board P8688182V2, for mini lathe G8688
Used the Daedalus P500W to replace the Grizzly mini lathe G8688 controller board, PN P8688182V2. It works perfectly, and with not much effort it fit inside the same housing as the original board. I also used the same Grizzly safety switch, but replaced the Grizzly speed controller potentiometer with the one that came with the P500W power supply.

The product did not meet my expectations.
The media could not be loaded. Unfortunately, the power supply unit has proven to be completely unreliable. When the knob is turned, the green indicator lights up and the motor starts as expected. However, upon further adjustment, both the indicator and the motor unexpectedly shut down. The unit can only be restarted by powering it off and on again.

Moderately shot lifespan.
Previous unit lasted 1 year and 1 week. It does exactly what it says it does, controls a 500w spindle, and comes with the potentiometer which is a nice plus. I wouldn't mind having to replace it every year if it were $20 cheaper.Loses one star for longevity, loses the second for the price of a unit which I apparently will need to keep a second one on the shelf at all times.

Works, requires caution
Updated: ***CAUTION*** These work by turning the input into a rectified rail (~160vdc for 120VAC) and using PWM to give the correct average voltage. For many applications this is fine, but it also means that even at low (typically safe) voltages you still have 160VDC pluses. Not a problem for their intended purpose, but be careful for anything else. I attached a couple scope screenshots showing the output at different average voltages (the pink line is the 120vac).My purpose is driving about a hundred watts of LEDs with beautiful, smooth DC power. Works great. No (visible) flicker, even on fast objects, at different brightness (voltage) levels. I’ve used a couple for over a year without a problem.

Great Product
Just perfect for controlling my 100VDC lathe motor. Good torque even at low speeds.
