There is nothing I can tell any of you that the other reviews don't say. Instead, I'll offer my personal anecdote. This device saved. My. Life. Well, not literally, but it definitely saved my sanity. I'm a highly anxious person who is extremely noise sensitive and vulnerable to sensory overload. Cue moving into my first college apartment, where the upstairs neighbors' every footstep can be heard amplified and bass boosted through my ceiling. (Of course, before I signed the lease, the landlord didn't mention this... "feature".) My room is right below their kitchen, so in addition to the stomping, I can hear all their yelling and banging around pots and pans all hours of the day and into the night. I was losing a LOT of sleep over this, and it ramped up my anxiety tenfold. I felt like I couldn't be at peace in my own home and dreaded having to come back here at all... My safe, comfortable space was constantly being violated by noise pollution and there was literally nothing I could do about it. As bitter as I was, my upstairs neighbors weren't technically doing anything wrong, they were living their lives just like I am. Anyway, I almost considered moving out or at least switching to an upstairs unit... that is, until I happened upon this amazing little device. I never cared for "white noise" machines that wasn't true white noise; ocean waves and rainfall isn't as soothing when you have upstairs neighbors with lead for feet. You really need a good, loud, pure white noise that masks all frequencies and that your brain can easily ignore, so it seems as if there's no noise at all. This thing was absolutely perfect for me, as it only had white noise and fan sounds (and a variety of 'em!) that can get loud enough to mask anything. I mean ANYTHING. I can now peacefully snooze through not only my neighbors' stomping kitchen antics, but also the 8AM garbage truck arriving bright and early every Wednesday. I don't wake up in the middle of the night anymore because my neighbor wants a midnight snack. I can come home after classes and enjoy an afternoon nap without disturbances. I sleep much more deeply and peacefully overall. And it's all thanks to the LectroFan. I'm telling you, if you can relate to my situation in the slightest, just don't even worry about the cost. I would honestly pay double for this if I knew how much it would improve my quality of life. Please buy this. Please. Support this awesome product.

I bought the Big Red Rooster for my wife after I knocked hers to the floor and broke one of its controls. My wife is very discriminating and often returns items she buys, but not this item. She likes the BRR quite a lot. She said it is very attractive, which is important to her. The BRR we chose is white in color. All the controls are on the top of the unit and easily understandable and accessible. It has the ability to produce six different types of sounds, such as "rain" and "thunder" but she prefers the "white noise" setting which is the type of sound she liked on the sound machine I broke. In addition, there is an off-on button which lights up for ease in turning it off or on in darkness, and two buttons for raising or lowering the sound of this noise generator. Finally, the user is able to choose whether to have the generator run for 15, 30 or 60 minutes before automatically shutting off. Of course, the user can also leave the noise generator on all night, which is my wife's preference. The "white noise" selection of this machine is soothing and seems to assist my wife in falling asleep. This setting also produces a sound that masks many of the noises I might make, which is a plus, for both my wife and me. In a sense, this machine may be considered to be a useful marital aid. The name "Big Red Rooster" is not fitting since this machine is not large or red, does not scratch the floor and does not emit an annoying "cock-a-doodle-doo" sound that wakes us at sunrise.

I bought this sound machine to provide a little background noise. I love that it has summer nights on it. It reminds me of when I was growing up in the country. I would open up my window at night and go to sleep at night. This sound machine is awesome. It is easy to use remembers the sound and volume you use. You can set the amount of time you want to use it for by the timer. You cannot beat the price either and mine was here the next day. Highly recommend.

I mainly bought this to drown out my partner’s snoring… and I have to admit, it actually worked lol. The sound quality surprised me. It’s not premium, but it’s definitely better than I expected. The speaker seems pretty generous for the size, so the sound feels fuller than something this compact probably should. It’s also really easy to use. The interface is simple and well-designed, which I appreciate when I’m half asleep and don’t want to deal with anything complicated. Other pros: Lightweight and portable — easy to move around or travel with Feels durable Good variety of sound options, and the ones I tried all sounded solid A couple downsides: The cord it comes with is way too short—it wouldn’t reach the floor from my bedside table. It’s also USB-A, which feels a bit outdated, so depending on your setup you might need an extension or different cable. The biggest issue for me is the looping on some of the sounds (especially rain). The track is pretty short (around a couple minutes), and you can hear when it resets. Once I noticed it, it was hard to ignore and it kind of breaks the immersion. I might be a little sensitive to that, but it did stand out. Overall, it does work and it did block out snoring, which was the goal—but between the short cord and the noticeable looping, I probably won’t end up using it regularly.

gets very loud, speaker is what you would expect for a $10 machine, it makes noise to sleep to does not need to be p-perfect quality in my opinion (your asleep).

Just enough choices

This is a very good sleep helper , I aleays have trouble getting to sleep and im not a sound sleeper every noise wakes me but this has help alot, not only do i sleep well but now i get a good 8 hours of rest , so long as the power disen go out , i got batteries now so its not a problem now. i highly recommend it to first time moms having trouble when babies need feeding during the night some times you dont get the rest you need this also helps the babies aswell.
