Heavy duty bowl with perfect fitting/sealing lid. I wanted a bowl to use for mixing up tuna that I could *easily* keep the leftover tuna covered for the next day rather than fighting with plastic 'cling' wrap. This bowl is perfect for that, as well as looking nice. Note - it arrived in a larger box with a couple of other loosely packed non-fragile items. The bowl had no padding around it, yet it seems perfectly fine. A true good ol' American product!

IF MOM'S ARE STILL DURABLE ENOUGH TO BE USED, THEN WHY NOT BUY?
I use these handy ANCHOR HOCKING containers to store my homemade yogurt in. I now have 12 of them. I make a run that lasts me about three weeks. Plastic containers degrade so quickly, which means that it gets into the food, so with ANCHOR HOCKING, you don't have to worry about that 'parasite' in your food. I don't need to tell you about the quality of these containers.... let my Mother tell you. I have Hers!!!! Her stuff is ancient.... needed new tops, as all. But still being used. How's that for a durability recommendation?

My go-to bowl
Anchor Hocking always produces quality products in my mind. I was laughing when I received this bowl because they have made the glass just a little bit thinner than my old one. I guess they're trying to cut corners a little, but that doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with the bull. It's exactly what I looked for and received. These are easy to clean and seal food well for freshness. This is a great value for the money.

Very sturdy
They are a little small for my intention but very well made at a great price. I will keep them. They will be good for leftovers and a nice replacement for my stained plastic containers.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Everyone in my family has asked for one of these (Tho the lid on this particular unit is inferior to the better Anchor Hocking set that I got from the most trusted Big Box Store).

This product appears to be seconds. Defects in the glass. Will probably return.
