Yaesu FGPS-2 GPS Module for VX-8DR & VX-8R, FTM-350R, FTM-350AR Transceivers

It works exactly as described. Setup is so simple my 5 year old grandson could install. If you're out on the trail you can pinpoint your location to within 10 feet. Ideal for search and rescue when mated with your 2 meter radio.

Easy to install. Its a little bulky but works good. Use it on hikes mostly just to have a ping location if I get in trouble.

Does not always get me the right bearing. My Samsung smart phone does a much better job.

The GPS module arrived packaged as expected with full instructions. Setup and configuration was easy. The reception from satellites is as expected. This product just works.

It does exactly what it is supposed to which is provide gps data for APRS and general use, though like most Yeasu stuff it is overpriced for what it is.

Unit was easy to install. Worked great with the VX-8R first time out on the trails using APRS. Never lost satellite link, even indoors.

GPS衛星補足するまでの時間は、マニュアルには数分と書いてるが、ロケーションが悪いのか自宅周辺では十分以上かかる。 また、「マニュアルにはその日初めて使用する場合」だけ時間がかかるように書かれているが、電源入れるたびに時間がかかる。

今更ながらAPRS運用のために購入。 無線機本体は発売直後に購入済みでした。 他の方のレビューにもありますが、コールドスタートではGPSの受信までにかなりの時間を要します。 また、受信感度が良くないのか、すぐにGPSを見失います。 これはもはやこの商品の「仕様」として割り切るしかないですね。 VX-8D用のGPSユニットは他に選択肢ないですから、我慢しながら使っていきます。

スピーカーマイクには直に取り付け可能ですが、無線機本体には、別売りでスタンドが必要なので、要注意

GPSの補足に時間がかかり過ぎで補足前に目的地に着くこともしばしば。
