Nice plugs for a fair price.
Solved my needs for a fair price. No wonder Radio Shack went out of business.

Easy replacement parts
No issues at all with quality, very easy to solder wire to the leads and no issues with anything. Nice tight fit in the plug. Would recommend.

Use flux and a powerful soldering gun/iron
Highly recommended. These are perfect for what I needed, and these seem to be rare. The quality is impressive, especially at this price point. The insulating shells do not move at all once installed... perhaps the design was improved, since some reviews mention they slide off. The jacks are effectively a large chunk of metal so they will require a high-power soldering gun or iron, well preheated. Don't even bother trying to solder with a standard electronics iron, because the metal will just soak up the heat so a good solder joint is not possible. Be sure to use electrical soldering flux (and clean off the flux afterwards), and insert the wire all the way into the pocket. With good solder joints, these survive a good pull test. After assembly, the conductive part is recessed enough for safety (about 1/8 inch). The 4mm banana socket has a tiny air vent hole to facilitate insertion/removal of banana plugs.

Durable 4mm banana jacks
I purchased these so I could make up some custom leads for my benchtop power supply. Other parts I used: 14GA Twisted CCA Wire: B095C5DFYX Banana Plugs: B0897LB83Z Banana-Plug compatible alligator clips: B07R4ZNBF5 These sockets work well. They have a firm grip on the plugs and are compatible with the 14GA, though just barely, I had to twist it quite tightly, tin it, and then solder it in place. If I were to try again, I might purchase the kind of banana jack with the threaded terminal screw instead. But I knew these didn't have that when I ordered them, so no biggie. Soldering them onto the wire was a little tricky but nothing patience and flux couldn't solve. Would recommend for permanent fixtures, but maybe go for the ones with a terminal screw to make your life easier.

Great value if you’re determined to solder the connections
I wanted to solder my wires to the banana plugs, so I chose this product over any screw-on connection designs. Yes, it takes more time to assemble than just stripping the wires and using a screwdriver, but I believe a better connection is made with soldering. With a screw design - oxidation can occur over time, screws can come loose, wires can fray and then break, etc. NOTE: other reviewers have mentioned this, but I still think it’s worth the effort for a plug that ends up costing $1 each! You *will* have to use heat to remove and then subsequently reattach the plastic sheath. More often than not, you should also use crazy glue when reattaching the plastic sheath. I used crazy glue on all of mine anyway just to be sure.

This was a good choice
These banana plugs were very easy to get soldered up and are a great fit for my power supply.

They're... fine
They work exactly as described, but after working with them I would probably recommend getting more traditional cables with the ability to attach the speaker cables via screw as opposed to soldering on. I found that I needed to put the casing into a wire, then soldier the connection, then slide the casing back up. But there's not really anything keeping the connection strong but the soldier joint, and any bit of force or pull just yanks the entire thing off. Also don't be like me and put the casing on a wire backwards. I found I could also only fit one small wire inside the casing - which was frustrating as I needed to fit two. Ended up cutting it and just wrapping the whole thing in electrical tape.

Life saver
These are good quality banana jacks for cabling installation vs. panel mount. My subwoofer plate amp died. I used the existing speaker leads with these jacks to enable an external Nobsound amp. Been working well for many months.
