A decent substitute for the smaller OEM unit
It's a decent filter. It has the larger flow holes in the head that you'll find on the OEM Allison filters (some of the aftermarket filters have slightly smaller diameter flow holes). It naturally hangs a bit lower, but I've never found it to be a problem. No leaks from the gasket once tightened properly. Just remember to swap the magnetic ring from the filter you are replacing!!!

Can’t go wrong with PPE better than oem really nice filter it’s longer then the oem filter but doesn’t cause any clearance issues and it seals nicely no leaks

Great filter
I think me adding this external transmission filter and setup on my Ford F250 6.4 has definitely prolonged my transmission with the added filtering capabilities, I usually change this filter every 15000 miles….

Preventative maintenance
Appears to be working fine and I'm happy to have the extra filtering capacity. Pan replaced and internal filter replaced same time with fresh Amsoil at 110,000 miles.
