All of my dogs have transitioned well from the Royal Canin puppy dry food to the Adult Royal Canin adult dog food. It was very important to use the transition directions from the current food to the new food of 25%/75%, 50%/50%, 75%/25% for the stated periods on the product site. There was very little digestive upset compared to a 100% switch. We ran out of puppy food and borrowed the Adult food from our daughter for a day or two while waiting on delivery and all of the dogs had diarrhea for a couple of days after that. The transition period is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT for your pups tummy and to prevent a mess on your floor!!

I have two Shih Tzus who are both extremely picky eaters, and finding something they will consistently eat is a real challenge. I saw all the great reviews for this food topper and was very hopeful that this might finally be a solution for us. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case in our home. Just like with so many other foods we've tried, my dogs simply couldn't be bothered with it. They showed no interest at all. I wanted to share our experience for others who might be in the same boat. While I'm sure this is a wonderful product for many, it's important for people with very fussy dogs to know that it's not a guaranteed success. For us, it ended up being a waste of money, and I hope this perspective helps someone else with picky, perhaps older dogs, take that into consideration before they buy.
