I picked up the Amazon Basics Wired QWERTY Keyboard looking for a simple, affordable backup for my home office. For the most part, it does the job—you plug it in and it just works, no hassle, no drivers. The keys have a decent feel for a budget keyboard and I haven’t noticed any lag or missed keystrokes.That said, if you rely on the "Print Screen" function, this might not be the best choice. The keyboard does have a print screen key, but you have to use the function (Fn) key to access it, and even then, it doesn’t behave like the regular print screen button on most keyboards. Instead of taking a screenshot, it opens a tool that lets you draw on the screen, which is kind of odd and not what I needed. If taking screenshots is something you do frequently, this quirk will probably get annoying fast.Overall, I’d say it’s a solid, no-frills keyboard for everyday typing and basic use. Just be aware that its approach to the print screen function is a little unconventional. I’m giving it four stars because it performs well otherwise, but deducting a point for that awkward workaround.
