The original, and still the best!
Ahhh, good old Bondo. For those of you who don't know it, in the 60's Bondo was the go to auto body repair stuff for millions of first time car owners. Bondo litterally held many a teenagers' car together in the bad old days. Some guys had whole quarter panels filled with it to disguise what was really underneath it. Bondo is an easy to use paste like substance that is activated by the addition of an accelerator you mix into the paste to start the hardening process. While it sets up, you smear it onto the offending area and let it harden. Bondo works like this. You take some Bondo out of the can, lay it on a nonpourous surface. When you are ready to apply it, you mix in the hardening agent that comes with it, smooth it over the surface in question, and stand back for a couple of minutes until it hardens. It sticks with amazing tenaciousness, and once it sets up, it is remakably easy to sand out the excess Bondo with sandpaper. That's why we all liked the stuff. In a matter of an hour or so, you could sand it out a ding and paint it immediately. Everyone knew your clunker was held together by the stuff, but that was all right because their cars sported the Bondo overlap too. Between the amature body work, and a set of glass pack mufflers, you were the king of the road. It's easy to mix and use, and when you're done with your project, put the can-top back on, put the accelator on top of that, and finally put the plastic dome that sits over the can on. It will "stay fresh" for a long time. There are dozens of other usea of bondo, from sealing knots in a woodworking project to filling stubborn dents and gouges in wood trim. As I said before, Bondo takes paint really well, so you will literally find uses all around the house. Since this stuff is waterproof, outside repair projects became easier and longer lasting than those overexpensive wood fillers which seem to dry out as well as soon as you open the can. Outside the home you can find uses like filling cracked pavers or cracks anywhere for that matter. Heck, I've used it to seal up some holes in specimen trees loaded with carpenter ants, and a sick tree came back to life. If you've never used the stuff, get a can. As soon as you get it, you too will find a dozen uses for it. I'm 70 years old, and I still keep a can of this stuff on the workbench-just in case. And I've had a lot of cases.

WORKS WELL
I bought this Bondo body repair kit to patch up some pretty bad rust spots on my older Subaru, and overall, it did a great job for a DIY fix. The kit came with everything I needed, body filler, hardener, a spreader, and a small amount of fiberglass mesh. Instructions were clear, and it was easy enough to use even with minimal bodywork experience. I had some rusted-out sections near the wheel well and lower panels. After cleaning and grinding out the rust, I used the fiberglass and layered on the filler. It spread smoothly and dried fast, giving me enough time to shape and sand it before it hardened fully. After sanding and painting over it, the repair looked surprisingly clean. The only downside is that the fiberglass mesh is limited in size, so if you’re dealing with a larger rust hole, you may need to buy more separately. Also, make sure you apply it in thin layers to avoid cracking or uneven curing. For the price and convenience, this kit is solid. It’s not a professional body shop result, but it definitely gave my Subaru a fresh look and helped prevent the rust from getting worse. Highly recommend for small-to-medium body repairs at home.

first time doing bodywork
I recently purchased Bondo to tackle some body work on my car, and I’m thrilled with the results! As a first-time DIYer with zero experience in auto body repair, I was a bit nervous, but Bondo made the process surprisingly manageable. The filler was easy to mix and apply, with a smooth consistency that spread evenly over the dents and scratches I was fixing. It dried quickly, sanded down nicely, and provided a solid base for painting. I was able to complete my project with a professional-looking finish that exceeded my expectation.

Slightly damaged
It arrived slightly damaged, the Hardener was an opened and it smelt really bad and it was a completely different spreader that advertised. But it all still works

Recently used the Bondo Body Repair Kit on my vehicles at home, and it's been a game-changer! This original formula is incredibly lightweight and made repairing dents, rust holes, and scratches a breeze. The kit includes everything you need for durable repairs – Body Filler, Red Cream Hardener, Self-Adhesive Metal Body Patch. I'm no professional, but this do-it-yourself Auto Repair Kit made the restoration process fast and easy. It's like magic for your vehicle! No spreader included, but that didn't stop me from achieving fantastic results. If you're into DIY bodywork, this Bondo kit is a must-have in your toolkit. Highly recommend!
