This thing is amazing!
I am setting up our house to be integrated with Alexa, and I dont have money to upgrade all of my appliance to smart appliances, so for example we set our older flat screen tv up to be controlled by Alexa through this device. It basically just replaces the remote, we were able to turn the volume and channels up and down, mute, and change the input on the tv, and turn it on and off all through Alexa voice commands. We recently also set this device up to control our projector which is like a random off brand cheapo from Amazon but we were able to easily set it up. We also hooked up our remote controlled speakers to this so we can control it all with Alexa. You can really hook up pretty much any device that comes with a remote, it is a flexible system. If you can't find your brand, you can "teach it" which buttons are which. The other think I like about this device is that you can hook up multiple devices to it if they are in the same room.

Good functionality and no issues.
So far it works just great. I've had it for about 3 weeks now and haven't had any issues. I coupled it was a Merkury 4 port smart plug so I could easily turn on/off the kids' TV in the basement. The smart plug is needed so I know that the TV is off, as the IR signal can either turn the TV on or off (this is common for most TV remotes and isn't a fault of the device). My TV, a Vizio that is at least 12 years old, was already known by the device, so setup was simple. There are hundreds of preset devices in the software. So I would assume that most IR controlled devices would work just as easily. The box came with a brown gunk on it (no clue what it was) but the actual controller was in good condition. It integrates well with the Smart Life app. To use it in Google Home, you will need to set up smart automation in Smart Life. One of the other reviews details how to do it and was very helpful. Overall I am happy with it so far.

Works great once you get past the setup...
Can be a bit difficult to set up if you're not to tech savvy, see first you have to download an app and connect it to your WI-FI. Then let it discover the device and then go to a sub-page in the app to add the devices you want to control via brand. Next thing you have to do for it to work with Alexa Echo, you have to add it to ALEXA'S TALENTS ( actually once you download the app thats the first thing you want to do.) All that being said and done though, once it's setup, works flawlessly. I've got 3 one on living room that controls all my electronics, bedroom and wife's office/ den.

A little tricky to set up, but works like magic
I find this device a bit tricky to set up. It needs a low-speed WiFi network, and can only be controlled by Alexa using the Smart Home app, and the process is not intuitive. However, once you've got it up and running, it works like magic. Mine turns on a stereo, sets it to the proper mode and volume, and plays the music I want to hear when I get home from work three days a week--then turns off at bedtime. I love it!

Works super fine!
Harmony - works ok but constantly showing offline plus have to tell Alexa to "tell harmony hub to do smth" Broadlink - couldn't connect and gave back Smart IR Controller (this one) - easy to set up, cheap, perfectly works with Alexa You might have a different experience with these examples

So far, unable to perform invoke IR commands from Alexa
Works halfway, finally got it to learn some codes but invoking IR commands wasn't happening. I'll keep trying and will change this review plus add tips on how I did it if I get it to work. It was super cheap so maybe I got what I paid for.

great! works in home-assistant with TUYA connection if you setup scenes in the TUYA apps!
Also pair this baby with a FLIRC for your battle-stations and you can spend some time writting hotkeys for various computer functions and start controlling your computer remotely without ever needing a RDP/VNC! Works really freaking well, and with a bit of technical skills the combination of these two items make for endless possibilities for using your computer when you are away from it.

I can now turn on our bedroom AC with Alexa - life is great
We have a Honeywell AC unit in an upstairs bedroom that has an IR remote and I wanted to be able to turn it on from anywhere using Alexa which I can now do. I already use the SmartLife app and adding the smart IR remote was a lot easier than I expected. Could not ask for more, very happy!
