Really fun
There were some mixed reviews so I was hesitant to buy this cube straight from the orient from an amazon seller. But the price was right and..... I am so glad I did. This is an extremely fun cube. I could do a regular 3x3 with no problem. But the first time I did this cube, it really was racking at my brain. It wasn't clear to me when I bought the cube but cube pieces stick out in 3-d until they are placed in the right spot. It's really fun and trying to visualize which piece goes where gives a new element of challenge. This cube is just cool - for instance on the third layer when there is only two flipped corners and everything else is solved, the cube looks so cool with the flipped pieces just sticking up and the rest of the cube a perfect cube. A cube fan should definitely get this.

The mirror cube puzzle is a fun shape mod of the 3x3 cube
The mirror cube puzzle is a fun shape mod of the 3x3 cube. If you know how to solve the regular 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube then you know how to solve this. This puzzle is one that I call an 'identification puzzle'. Given you probably already know how to solve the 3x3x3 if you're purchasing this then the only real challenge this adds is you having to identify what pieces belong to what sides and using that information to execute your algorithms. Not too difficult provided you know the 3x3, but it does add an extra level of difficult to the puzzle. There's also an aspect of puzzle manipulation as a problem as well due to this being a cube that changes shape. It can get unwieldy in your hands and you have to figure out how to stabilize the cube to execute your moves in a timely manner. That being said this is true for all 3x3x3mirror cubes. What really matters is how the ThinkMax cube is compared to other cubes. Out of the box the ThinkMax Mirror Cube was really okay at best, which is kind of what I expected from a ~$8 mirror cube from a manufacturer I don't recognize. It turned fine I suppose but it just felt really dry and a little tight. I loosened the tensions according to my preferences and it began to feel much better but I still wasn't impressed. Still, ~$8 for this? I surely didn't regret my purchase. It felt worth the $8 atleast. Then I lubed the cube. This thing turned into one of the nicest feeling cubes in my (small and modest) collection. I currently have a Valk 3, MF3RS, YJ Guanlong, Xtimer X-V6, and a QiYi WuQue 4x4. They've all been pulled apart, lubricated, put back together, and tensioned until they felt just right. This $8 from some random manufacturer with some hasty tensioning and just a few drops of The Cubicle's weight 3 lube feels just so much better than ANY of those. It feels like the insides of each piece are made with silk and butter and it's just lovely. If you like a smooth cube then this will be wonderful for you. If you like a chunky cube then this cube is a good fit for you before putting lube in it. Just make sure to do some of the basic setup and maintenance when you first get the cube (tensioning and lube if you would like that).

Great product but seemed used and dirty
The box holding the cube was ripped as if it had been opened previously and the product was greasy or dirty as if it have been used.

A slick and flashy cousin to the standard Rubik's cube
I didn't expect much from this cube, so, needless to say, it exceeded all of my expectations! Make no mistake, the mirror cube is a great piece to show off to your friends, as its design is so different from conventional Rubik's cubes. As soon as you mix it up, it loses its cube shape and looks more like a piece of modern art. The stickers are shiny, but not reflective, and each block has a different set of dimensions (That's how you solve the cube). I was pleasantly surprised to find that the layer rotation is very fluid and satisfying, and it makes you want to turn the cube. It definitely catches the eye, and is good as a slightly more difficult Rubik's cube. Don't expect this puzzle to challenge you for long though if you already know how to solve a normal 3x3, as the mechanics are fairly straightforward.

Only minor flaws...
Puzzle is a fun, challenging twist on the traditional 3x3 Rubiks cube, and you can use the exact same algorithms on the Mirror cube you use on the Rubiks cube. Right out of the box the puzzle was a bit stiff, but after a day of playing with it and a few solves later, the turning is up to par. Still definitely not a speed cube, doesn't cut corners extremely well. It looks fairly nice, I like the design except for the cuts I can see in some pieces when the puzzle is offset. A face almost popped off once, but I snapped it back in no problem. I think I would try a different company to buy from next time, though not a terrible product.

Cool cube for the cool cuber...
This is a really cool cube. If you can solve regular cubes, you can solve this one, it might take a bit more thought though. I got this for my brother for Christmas a couple years ago and played with it before I gave it to him and found it to be fun. It looks really cool when it is all mixed up and the finish on it is pretty nice. My brother still plays with it so it has had years of use. Pros: - Same patterns as the original Rubik cube, but still something new for the experienced cuber - Cool looking, especially when it is mixed up - Good price, solid construction Cons: - It might give you a headache if you have a weak mind - Some people find Rubik cubes boring (gasp!)

Disaster Purchase
I bought this cube for my son and after couple of weeks we received it. Color of the stickers faded away after couple of days playing. Also stickers started coming off at the same time, and the cube peaces broke after couple of days. I had to send couple e-mails to seller with photo attachment showing that the cube quality is way below the promises. Although the seller refunded me the money, but the times I spend sending the e-mail back and forth to seller was more valuable than the cube itself. I felt like that I am giving free consulting to seller to go for better quality etc... Anyway make the long story short, I will doubt to buy something from this seller next time.
