Pre wash
Works well, great to add some powder to pre wash

Economic and effective
I've never had a dishwasher that cleans brilliantly every time. Like most things they are not perfect but I wouldn't want to be without one. I agree with so many reviewers on here who don't want to pay ridiculous prices for those stupid pods and tablets. I was always happy with either liquid or powder but it's difficult to obtain either now. The dishwasher manufacturers will tell you not to use DIY or commercial detergents because they are corrosive; however, I've been using this in my eight-year-old AEG DW for two years now with no issues at all. I last bought a tub of this powder in June 2024. It's now March 2026 and I still have about 1/2 a kilo left. I don't use more than about a teaspoon and I've never had a white film on my crockery or cutlery. (I think those people are using too much powder.) I use the dishwasher about once a day, so a family may find it doesn't last so long but it's still very good value and a great product. Yes, it does smell bleachy so just be sensible with it. As others have said, it's important to keep the salt dispenser topped up if you're in a hard water area. I also make sure I top up the rinse-aid dispenser (a cheap, supermarket one) every wash because it runs out quickly, and I frequently use a DW cleaner on a 60 degree wash. Good luck, enjoy the money saving.

Poor cleaning performance
Wouldn't buy again. Originally got this because Finish discontinued their powder & there aren't really any other options. My main issues are: 1) Leaves a white, murky residue behind. I have to do another short wash to remove it. 2) Powder easily clumps in the detergent drawer. Sometimes preventing it from opening at all during the wash. 3) Cleaning performance is very poor - I'd often have to re-wash dishes in the sink, even on my washers 'intensive' mode. Complete false economy. I've gone back to pods. I've relegated this powder to pre-wash, sprinkling a small amount on the door.

Great value, but be careful it can taint pitted plastics
The fact I can't buy powder in the supermarket and all they sell is those stupid pods infuriates me. You need to be able to moderate the amount of detergent depending on the load and your water hardness. We have very soft water so can get away with using a very small amount of this powder without any loss of cleaning performance. The cost saving over pods/tablets is phenomenal. For very dirty loads you can also throw a little powder in the bottom of the machine to boost the pre-rinse when needed. As far as cleaning goes, this stuff does a good job - no different to supermarket brands. As others have mentioned here it does have a strong bleach smell. For china/glass/steel etc., this isn't really an issue as they are generally impervious but if you have any plastic tubs/cups that are pitted at all, you may find that this powder can taint them slightly. This becomes an issue if you batch cook and store food in those tubs for any length of time, and/or use them to reheat food in the microwave. We have occasionally found that a noticeable soap/bleach taste can be introduced. On the whole though, this is a minor hassle that is limited to pitted/damaged plastic containers, and can be worked around by a quick "sniff check" and a rinse & wipe, if needed, before storing/reheating food. The convenience of never having to to stand bewlildered in front of the pointlessly expensive and deceptively labelled dishwasher detergents in the supermarket more than makes up for it. EDIT: after reading some other reviews I've noticed people complaining of this product not dissolving fully, or in some cases at all. I almost always use the low temperature "eco" cycle on my 15yo, cheap and cheerful Bosch dishwasher. I've been using this powder for over six months now and I have never noticed any issues like that. (We have soft water, which may be relevant here, I'm not sure.) Also I saw a comment from someone saying they think this is a product for commercial machines and that residential machines don't have an "auto dispense" function. Firstly, commercial machines tend to use steam, not chemical detergents. Secondly, consumer dishwashers do in fact auto-dispense. It's a standard design feature which allows the initial rinse/prewash cycle to complete before the detergent is automatically dispensed at the start of the main cycle.

Buy salts and rinse aid too!!!
First few goes with this stuff and everything was cloudy. Nearly sent it back but once I made sure I was using enough salt and rinse aid (also bought in bulk) the results have been perfect. Can be very liberal with this powder if it is a particularly dirty wash or use it sparingly od required. Used daily for over 8 months and I think I have more than half left. Can't see it running out anytime soon. Just make sure you get rinse aid and salts and when u use all in one tablets for ages you probably don't need them and might overlook them as I did leading to not perfect results.

Some teething trouble but well worth it
We bought this because: 1. Tablets weren't fully dissolving in our dishwasher so we thought powder might work better 2. We wanted a cheaper option than tablets 3. We wanted to reduce the packaging from individually wrapped tablets It took us about a week to get a good clean in our dishwasher. We had to experiment with powder dosage and adjust the rinse aid and salt settings. We were having problems not so much with stuff getting clean, but with a rub-offable white film coating everything. I'm not sure which tweak did the trick, but I'm glad we persevered. We use half to 3/4 tbsp per wash. This powder is cheap, less wasteful than tablets, and comes in an awesome white bucket that (in about a million years when we've used all the powder) will certainly have multiple uses in our home. Warning: if you decant it into a jar to keep on the counter (with a dedicated tablespoon), it will puff up in a cloud of tiny particles that will make you cough and sneeze. Keep your head WELL AWAY while decanting. After that, once it's settled, no problems.
