Milward Tailors Point Presser and Clapper, Seam Flattening, Steam Absorbing, for Sewing Quilting Dressmaking Embroidery, Beech

This item is very useful for pressing seams and hems when constructing a garment. It really helps to “set” the fabric if you place it on for a few seconds straight after lifting the iron away. It is made of smooth unvarnished wood and feels good quality.

Item was a). delivered on time and b). of good quality - as advertised. I've only just purchased it and have only used it for a short while prior to this review so cannot give you a realistic view as to its durability (give me a year though, then yes could do so for sure!). However, looks like it's fit for purpose and will last a while. I'm content with it but remember that for now, nothing lasts forever....... Less positive: 1. The seller did not wrap the item in anything to protect it apart from the branded box (which is flimsy). Personally I think they should carefully reconsider that approach - is it a good customer experience? 2. The deliveryman wrote 'Parcel was handed to resident'. NO, never! It was left on front door step.

This is really great to use it is the right weight to hold that crease for you and can be used for points as well as straight creases It was a big decision to make as there was quite a few and listening to other quilters about their experiences although I am a complete novis I digested their words and chose the Milwards clapper I have as yet not been disappointed it feels right in my hand and you don't have to apply any pressure just plonk it down on the just ironed crease while you get on with the next bit Yes there are cheaper versions but I listend to my mentors and I am so glad I did as it is a beautiful piece to own as well as being practicle

Honestly don’t know how I’ve managed for decades without this. It is an absolute must for sewing my craft projects as well as sharp creases on clothing. If you don’t have one and use a steam generator iron I’d highly recommend. Especially for crafters.
