This book is a must-read for anybody interested in understanding SEO and/or implementing it for one's own website. I've read the previous 2 editions as well. Basically I buy the book every year since I discovered it.A lot of the contents is the same from year to year, but serves as a useful refresher. It is written in plain language, which makes it easier to understand and more pleasant to read. It's simple, if you need to understand SEO, buy and read this book.There's a lot of crap being told about SEO. Google wants to make it seem more complicated than it really is. As do some agencies. Allegedly because this allows them to charge a lot of money for the tasks they perform. Even if you don't intend to perform your own SEO, at least after having read this book you'll be able to select the right partner to help you out with it.P.S. I have just finished reading Jason McDonald's SEO Fitness Workbook and I am very happy I got hold of this book. I first fell in love with Jason's SEO Fitness Workbook last year after I have read a couple of SEO books and could still not get my head around SEO as it sounded more technical and difficult to comprehend. I was so amazed when I got Jason's book as it made SEO look very simple and easy for a novice like me. The book comes with videos which makes everything look so simple and easy as though Jason is having a one-on-one conversation with you and explaining SEO to you in simple terms without all the technical jargons. That is why when I realized that the 2017 edition is out I did not hesitate to buy and believe you me it is even better taking SEO tutoring to the next level. I wish all books are written in this format, it will make learning very interesting and motivating. I highly recommend this book.
