Birkenstock Women's Mayari Birko-Flor Sandals

You know that feeling you get when you try something on and know instantly that it's perfect? I got that with these sandals. When I finally decided to spring for a pair of Birks after months of agonizing over it, I got off to a rocky start. I bought and returned 2 other pairs before these beauties arrived to save the day. First, maybe it would help to know that I'm a female in my mid 30's, I wear a true size 8.5, have very high arches and feet perhaps slightly wider than average, at least in the toe box region. In fact - true confession - I had a bunion removed a few years ago from years of wearing shoes that were too narrow for my feet. Back to Birkenstock shopping. I wanted something super comfortable and casual, but also cute (for a Birkenstock), and in a color and style that would go with as many of my clothes as possible. The first pair I ordered were the classic Arizona style, iron oiled leather in a 38N. The fit was pretty good, but the color was way off from the picture. They were brown, not even close to grey. Not only that, but after trying them on started to feel like they were a little too chunky and masculine looking for what I wanted (at least on me), so I sent them back and ordered a pair of the Arizona sport style. I was hoping that the white buckles and accents would make them a little cuter and more feminine looking than just the classic Arizona. Indeed they were cuter, but the color choices in that style are so limited and I instantly knew that they were too bright and wouldn't go with as much clothes-wise, plus all those cute white accents drew far more attention to my feet than I wanted. Also, I started to think the M might be even more comfortable for my feet than the N size, especially in the heel. When I ordered this style in plain black and 38M I literally crossed my fingers when I clicked the purchase button. I am SO HAPPY now that I have these! They are the PERFECT fit (glad I went with the M over the N, though the difference is subtle)! I was worried that the piece in between the toes would chaff and rub but it doesn't at all. The strap width is just right, not too thick, not too thin. They are classy and cute and definitely more feminine and a little less unisex hippy than the Arizona style, plus they were cheaper! I really am in love with these sandals and know that we'll be happy together for a very long time. (Don't mind the shabby state of my toenails in these pics, it's the end of winter here and I haven't gotten a real pedi yet). UPDATE: Don't fret if the piece of sole that sticks up under the big toe feels a little bit "much" at first. People have commented that it is too high and feels uncomfortable. I never thought it was uncomfortable but I did certainly notice it at first. Within a few weeks I didn't notice it at all! They really do conform to your feet!

Birkenstocks are awesome, they are made in Germany and every time I go to Germany I look for a pr that is priced well, but can never get my hands on a pr I always ck Amazon periodcally for the last 2 years cking for a good pr for a good price and I got this pr for 61 when noramlly they're a 100 here in the US and Germany, so Thank you Amazon.com once again awesome awesome ! The fit perfect, lightweight I mean really lightweight so comfortable, and you can get the sole replaced if you have to at a cobbler I'm going to when mine wear down, but these last a long long long time. I have bought 3 pairs from Amazon now

With Birkenstock I know before buying that they just don't have a size that will truly fit my foot. It's a shame that they don't offer half sizes, because that would ensure a perfect fit. That being said these shoes redeem Birkenstock ever so slightly. Both straps are fully adjustable, this means a more custom fit. After adjusting both straps I was pleasantly surprised with how my foot felt more secure in this sandal. I took a chance on this shoe and I'm glad I did. It really helps that this sandal is probably the cutest sandal Birkenstock has to offer.

Bit the bullet and got some real Birks for the first time. They are amazingly comfortable and literally energize me. I love them so much they will not be my last pair! They fit perfectly and hold up really well to daily wear. They look great and I can’t recommend them enough.
