Tasty for pigs and a must for pig owners
I first heard about emeraid through my vet, who was a rabbit specialist and therefore generally pretty good with guineas. My 6 year old pig was put on this to help give him all the nutrients he needed, as he was losing weight. A relief knowing you can help keep their guts going and give them all the nutrients they need if they are poorly. I currently have three further boys, all who love the taste (I sometimes use it as a treat if I have an open bag of it, so they are not wary of a new food if they ever become sick). They lap it up! Much better than critical care, but my new vet (at the RVC, very good with exotics) has suggested that mixing these sorts of foods is fine in order to find something that works for your animal. Just make sure you have a large syringe for it and make sure you know how much to be giving a pig per day, and get the right consistency. I believe its around 40ml per day for an adult male pig, if they are still eating but need a boost.

Must have in the cupboard. Great value for money. Lasts six months in fridge on opening. Easy to use. Mixes well. Tasty it appears. Smells fine. Good date life

Great for guinea pig weight gain
My guinea pig is recovering from jaw surgery and had lost a lot of weight because of it. This has helped him so much putting the weight back on. I don't even have to use a syringe for him to take it, so it must taste good.

Need to add extra fibre
Great product, taken readily by my guinea pig, but after a while started mixing in some critical care for extra fibre which has improved his stoole, plus some mashed healthy guinea pig poo to improve gut biome!

Difference between Emeraid IC and Emeraid Sustain
Lots of comments confused about the colour. There are two types. This one is the intensive care for severely ill, you need Emeraid Sustain if you want the green powder that looks like the usual critical care feed. My girl really liked this after she refused critical care and science selective recovery plus. The dosage is 1 part warm water and 1 part powder. Ensure scoop is clean and dry before placing in the bag. Wash and dry your hands before measuring the scoop. Keep in fridge once opened. ***You also have to discard 30mins after mixing, so do not prepare more than you need!***

Good but you don't get much for the price
So my 6 year old male guinea pig has has some problems with his teeth / thyroid for a couple of months, resulting in him losing 300g. He does eat normal food but needs to eat multiple times per day just to maintain weight. We've been trying this for about 4 days and I must say he absolutely goes crazy for it and his weight has stabilised. Yes, it does smell of porridge and the smell seems to linger for hours after using but he goes crazy The moment he gets a whiff of it. The big negative to this is price. I've managed to get not much more than 5 days out of a pack, using 20ml per day. At £18 a pack, that would be £108 per month. I've yet to work out whether I'm mixing wrong or it just doesn't last long and the instructions might as well be written in Swahili. Would I use again in a life or death situation? Most definitely but, for my needs as a weight stabiliser, it's just way too expensive.

First Aid Essential for Guinea Pigs
My guinea pig will literally eat this off the spoon. It helped him recover after a dental.
