Surprisingly impressed with how easy it was to customize my rug! My kitchen is galley style, so a runner would be way too skinny. I found a 5x7 rug and trimmed that on one edge and then purchased the Buckskin color binding. I only did one side (might do the other) but it honestly doesn’t look too bad! Important to note that you’ll need a glue gun and fabric glue sticks. I just used my cheap one for crafting and purchased some fabric glue sticks. Hardest part was actually cutting a woven rug, but worked perfectly!

Had a large leftover (8x12) from a room wall to wall install. Used the instabind to convert the leftover to use as an area rug in another room. The binding process with this product was a breeze and looks professional. A clean straight carpet edge and a thin glue nozzle is a must! Really impressed with this this system.

I used Instabind to create a rug from left over carpet for my daughter. I also used it for a door mat from the same left over carpet. My daughter loved it. I also bought the Gorilla glue gun ($10) and it worked very nicely with the Instabind carpet binding. I started with the smaller door mat to get acclimated to the product and then did the larger area rug. Its easy to use and took me about an hour for both. Great product.

Work as described, very simple to install. Hot glueing short pile carpet a little more difficult then long pile carpet.

We have used this rug binding before and it always meets out expectations. Great Adhesive and durability over the years. Easy to apply and looks so nice afterwards. We are not professionals, but it is fun to try to create such a good looking product.

After having new carpet installed we had a couple of pieces left and decided to try this to finish off the ends for a cleaner look and it worked great. If you watch the video and follow the instructions, you'll be able to have a nice professional look on your remnants and save yourself some money.

I didn’t want to pay for a customer area run for our living space. I needed an odd size- 12’x17’4”. So I went to Lowe’s and chose a 12’ wide cut to length rug that I had to bind myself for our living room. I attached pictures to show how easy it it and how good it looks! I did purchase a Ryobi cordless hot glue gun to be able to go around the whole area with ease. I will say I used extra hot glue along with the adhesive to be sure it would last our family a long time incase the adhesive wasn’t strong enough. It’s made from a durable material and very easy to use after watching the video. I got a high pile carpet and the thickness is perfect around the edge. I chose the beige color and it’s PERFECT. Instead of spending $1600 on a custom bound area rug- I was able to do it myself and the total cost of my project was $450! If you ever need to buy an area rug but you’re on a budget. I highly recommend InstaBind!

Watch the video to take away some of the apprehensions before you use this product. It's easy to use but the method of snipping the cord to get started is better explained in the video. Be sure to use the glue gun tip shown to make it easier to apply and less chance of burning yourself with hot glue, and I recommend using glue that specifically mentions less glue strings. The color of the binding I chose, to turn my new carpet "scraps" into protective mats, looks great with my carpet. So far I am very happy with this product and my results from using it.

I used this to convert an existing fitted stair carpet into a stair runner. Although easy to use, the process did take quite some time to complete due to the length of the carpet and the need to hot glue between the edge of the carpet and the binding; I found it easiest to use a hot glue gun with a long nozzle to get into the gap and complete 6" at a time. As I was applying the binding to a carpet that had been laid for a couple of years some of the pile had naturally flattened so it was not always easy to achieve a really neat edge with the binding - would certainly work much better with new/unused carpet. Overall I think it is a good product, good value and I'm happy with the finished result. Delivery was also a lot quicker than expected.

Just 6 bucks more than buying right from the manufacturer so price is fair. Easy Easy Easy install. Just need a good glue gun and have to buy the long tip to get a clean job. Not a better product t\for DYI' ers. Simple to do. UPDATE: Got the long tips for glue gun. Simple simple simple installation and looks as good as factory. Take your time with the hot glue with 12" sections at a time and make sure the gun is very hot. This was a breeze. Watch the product video it makes things easy.
