Helly Hansen Work Wear Men's Mandal Jacket

So I got this for my dad because he was always asking to use mine. It’s true to size, it completely blocks water and wind, but it doesn’t breathe so it gets hot. I’ve had mine for a few years and it’s never let me down, and now my dad loves his!

Definitely waterproof but sizing runs large. I typically wear medium and the bib overalls and rain jacket in size medium both are too big for me unless I was wearing extreme layering underneath. I just ordered the small size rain jacket and without layering that fits me. I also have this jacket in medium in a different color. The material is not very breathable but for the price and purpose I don’t care about that. I wanted something to be 100% waterproof. I typically am only working in heavy rain for 1-2 hours max as long periods of heavy rain are not frequent in my work region however I do have to work in the elements at times and need apparel that can hold up. My recommendation is that for slim or fit people you buy one size smaller than your normal size or what the size guide says unless you plan to wear the jacket over layers. The material is somewhat heavy and thick so it will be warm so factor that into how many layers you think you can wear underneath.

True to size. Very sturdy. Not flimsy material. Love the snaps around the bottom of the sleeves.

Great jacket, comfortable fit and a durable design. No zips to get rusty or jammed up with the popper design. Doesn't get to stuffy, while water just beads off it like a freshly waxed car

My son is going to work in a fishing lodge in alaska so I got this as a gift for him. Helly Hanson makes solid gear, and this is no exception. High quality, roomy fit, breathable (not as breathable as Gore Tex but a lot cheaper!) and overall a solid value for the price. It looks good too.

Love the jacket but it needs a zipper or stronger buttons. The buttons come unsapped way too easily with any sort of movement or pressure like bending over or doing any sort of physical work.

Das nenn ich mal eine gute Regenjacke! Lieferung kam schnell und gut verpackt. Für mich als Frau war die Größenwahl im Vorfeld ein bisschen schwierig. Das sind, egal wo man sucht immer Angaben bezogen auf Männer. Woher soll Frau wissen, ob sie Konfektionsgröße 46, 48 oder 50 bei Männermode braucht? Ich habe wegen ein paar Angaben zu Weite und Länge schließlich den Versuch gewagt in S zu ordern. Was soll ich sagen? Passt! Könnte evtl. ein wenig mehr Platz um die Brust herum sein, damit ein Anorak noch drunter passt, aber mit Fleecejacke geht es gut. Ich bin 164cm groß und trage normalerweise Damengröße 38/40. Wer also keinen allzu üppigen Busen hat, kommt als mittelgroße Frau mit S oder M super aus. Erwähnenswert finde ich, die wechselseitig angebrachten Druckknöpfe im Frontbereich. So hat weder Wind noch Wasser eine Chance einzudringen. Die Kapuze hat einen Schirm und alles lässt sich einfach fixieren und wetterfest machen. Top Jacke zu einem wirklich fairen Preis.

This jacket is INCREDIBLE! The fabric is thick (takes a few days to break in) and it's all one piece aside from one seam that looks like the two pieces were welded together. I am an independent contractor and I need my clothes especially to stand up to my super rugged life-style, and this coat MORE then meets my needs. The only possible draw back may be that the buttons do come undone quiet easily especially if your bending down quiet frequently.
