Hippo Kisser! 🦛
Love kiss the hippo! One of my favourite roasters in the uk. During these mad times it can be hard to get fresh beans delivered fast, this was a good send seeing ‘fresh’ beans delivered on prime Next day delivery! Really balanced bean makes a great flat white I get notes of Almond and cherry maybe slight marzipan? The only con I’d say is the fact it has no roast date on so I can’t tell when the beans have been roasted only a best before date. Other than that can’t complain!

Incredibly overpriced
In a rush (had run out of very essential coffee beans) I found this brand with good reviews and same day delivery. I hastily clicked buy now as time was running out for same day, oh no! It arrived later that evening and I couldn't believe the size of the pack, it was not as I had hoped, 1kg, but a measly 250g. Now, it is entirely my own fault for not opening the full description and reading it, the details are there if you expand them, but I at least expected it to be the most sublime coffee on earth at that price (the same price as a weeks worth of coffee shop espresso, and this lasted the same amount of time) As a comparison, I can buy a local roasters coffee beans for £19 for a 1kg, and the quality and flavour is outstanding. This wasn't. It was average. Now feel incredibly ripped off. Lesson learned, always make sure you stock check your coffee and don't buy overpriced brands from Amazon.

My favourite coffee beans fo far...
I heard a lot of recommendations about Kiss the Hippo and thought the George Street Blend would suit my coffee preference - I was absolutely right! Not bitter at all, great level of acidity and you can taste the chocolate, berry and butterscotch notes. I've almost finished the bag and I am very excited to try the other options from Kiss the Hippo!

Save your money and search on
So, I bought this by mistake. It came up in my search results for 1kg coffee beans and I didn’t check. My fault. No returns policy meant I had to try it. Wish I hadn’t. Normally I buy a local blend and it’s nice. I’d run out and wanted something nice next day delivery. Well it came next day (👍) but using today, it tastes pretty bland. Not worth the almost £40 a kilo price tag. Go look up Aroma in Shrewsbury and try their mountain blend for just over half the cost. But a kilo and they post for free. So, in short. Don’t buy this. It’s not a kilo, it’s 250g. It’s mega expensive and tastes pretty lame. Don’t be like me. Choose better.

It’s ‘ok’. Probably wouldn’t buy again.
This was ok. Not great. Not awful. Quite a heavy, strong taste, quite bitter.
