TL866II Plus Programmer + 7 Parts

The programmer worked well after downloading software from the XGecu site. There is a reference in the box to a US site for software but that didn't have a software version that worked with the unit. Apart from its extensive prom support I love the logic tester function to test all my old 74xx range of ic's. The only down side is it wont program devices requiring a Vpp above 18v. It is clearly documented and I can still read the old proms but would have been nice to be able to program my old 2716 eproms. There are ways around this but I don't intend to try them (yet).

This has much better software support than CH341A EEPROM programmers, plus it handles 1.8v chips without a converter. Well worth the extra cost.

This is my second one, by far the easiest to use. I have seen complaints about the hex editor but I don't use that feature so I can't comment on that but it has an extensive library of MCU & EPROM it writes and reads flawlessly every time.

Software was easy to install, but older & most info is written in Chinese. Also, to do firmware updates requires a machine with direct access to the USB ports, so no VMs. Works well as burning EPROMs, though!

Used to reflash my failed bios chip. Came with a couple different chip adapter. Works great. Has some safety features built-in just in case you have it in reverse or setup wrong.

With or without admin privileges, with or without compatibility mode, in Win 7, Win 8, and Win 10 compatibility modes, after more than a dozen attempts, I could not figure our how to install the software, rendering this useless to me. I could find no help or suggestions.
