Happy to buy yale a trusted brand but what does the ylem/ 200/eg1 do to justify nearly £100 more than the yleb/200/eb1 ?

The yleb/200/eg1 is a higher security rated safe, than the 200/eb1. The spec for the 200/eb1 is 2mm thick walls and 4mm thick door which is anti saw rated it has no sold secure rating for insurance purposes, however most insurance companies recognise the make and model as an anti theft device. The 200/eg1 has 2.5mm thick walls and a 6mm thick door this is also anti saw rated but in addition it is anti drill rated which means the door is made of hardened steel. These enhancement's qualify the safe for a Sold Secure Silver rating which is an insurance classification which ensures the safe is up to that security standard . Safes are a visible deterrent and will take a burglar some time to defeat . Generally the more you pay the better protection you get. For what its worth I have a YLEB/200/eb1 and I am happy with my purchase, its a well made piece of kit, and it doesn't contain the crown jewels.

Can you fit a 15" laptop in this?

There is no way your laptop will fit into one of these safes. door opening width with door hinge is 10.5" the opening depth is 6.75" opening diagonal measurement 13" so it will not fit. I suggest you look at a bigger safe and check the dimensions of the door aperture in the specifications.

How do you unlock the safe with the digit code , we bought the safe before going on holiday have now returned and forgotten how to unlock it

Press the tick button bottom left then enter pin code and press key button bottom right You also should have been given a physical key which will unlock it.

Excellent safe, display could be better

Perfect for storing laptops and other valuables. The only real issue is the display and you have to be at eye level with the display to be able to read it. Only one key is provided but there is an external battery back up if the batteries go flat. Quality and fitting options excellent. I would have given 5 stars if the display was more prominent.

Great safe. Easy to use

Similar size to the safe you get at hotels. Easy to set up and install. Holes provided at the rear and bottom of the safe to fix to walls.

Make me feel more reassured

This seems to be a well made safe, easy to fit to something immovable with bolting holes at the back and floor of the safe. Electronic unlock is easy to use.

Electronics did not work. Not able to set a personal code. Master Code did not work.

This safe was purchased new from Amazon. The instructions are very poor, and it was impossible to get the safe to recognise the code at the verification stage. The 'Key' button when pressed did nothing. It was also not possible to set or change the Master Code. There is no reset facility. The support team are fairly responsive, but sent the wrong instructions, which actually is pointless, because the safe is not behaving in the manner in which the instructions indicate. It is being returned as not fit for purpose.
