Not a cheap product and worth it.
This replaced a small, cheap, older unit I had with a ridiculously short cable. Used tis unit only once so far but it's miles ahead of last unit. Wireless plug to OBD II port is great and display of diagnostics is helpful. Print is still a little small so glad I have reading glasses.

I am really impressed with this scanner, it does a deep dive on your car and will tell you things an average obd2 scanner will. It does more than I can figure out at the moment, but with time, I'll get the hang of it's features. I plugged it into my 2014 police interceptor sedan and did an auto search. It found me, my vin, knew it was an interceptor rather that a Taurus. I did a heath check and it told me about a few faults that were not throwing codes. My pcm and cat system have a couple things to look into. It found my airbag issue that I've been trying to find for a long time. I'll address that as well, no that I know where to look. The wireless interface between the port and the scanner is awesome. I'm not sure of it's range, but it is nice to be able to walk around while scanning, and live scans as well. Feels extremely well made to me. Heavy and solid and out of materials that feel good in your hand. Nothing feels cheap about it whatsoever. I updated easy via wifi but only updated the makes of vehicles I think I would even be plugging into. I tried updating them all but I guess it was too many at once and was failing downloads. No issues at all downloading individuals. A little pricey if all you're just looking to see what the warning light is. You will save money in the long run by being able to get an almost dealer quality scan. If unable to fix yourself, at least you can provide more educated information to your mechanic. Nothing bad to say about this unit thus far.

I'm the family mechanic which means I regularly to basic to intermediate repairs to a fleet of over 12 cars and SUVs, basically the fleet comes to me for everything before checking with the mechanic. Having a good scan tool has been critical to me being able to quickly perform simple tests and see if I can repair one of the fleet myself, or if it needs to go to the mechanic. Also, the ANCEL DS500BT helps me do simple tasks like resetting oil and service lights after doing basic services at home which essential and not always easy to do. You can get a cheap Bluetooth scanner but this scanner includes many professional features such as: - Use the ECU to trigger and verify key actuators (fuel injectors, fuel pumps, windows, wipers, mirrors, etc.) - Perform essential functions like Oil Reset, EPB Reset, ABS Bleeding, BMS Reset, SAS Calibration, Airbag Reset, and DPF Regeneration - Read and reset trouble/error codes - Monitor live data with freeze-frame functionality so you can see the exact data in the ECU when an error code was triggered All of the above is accessed through an easy to use 7" touch screen that works like an Android tablet which makes sense as the scanner does run on Android. My first test of this scanner was in our old Ford and setup was super easy after I charged and updated the scanner inside our home and over WIFI. All I did was plug in the dongle, turn on the scanner, and then started the ford up. The scanner quickly auto-detected the Ford and I was able to quickly check for codes, clear codes, and run a few standard tests. This level of functionality is what your mechanic has at their shop with their professional equipment. The Scan Tool works great. It's easy to use, includes advanced testing abilities, and comes with LIFETIME updates! I'm good to recommend this tool just based on how easy it is to use and the free updates - the rest is bonus! Final note: Did I mention that it comes with a case? Man I love when tools come with a storage case and ANCEL did not let me down here. Good stuff!

I’ll be honest — the ANCEL DS500BT is way more than I expected. This isn’t your basic plug-in code reader that you use once and toss in a drawer. It’s built to handle multiple vehicles and a long list of diagnostic and maintenance tasks, and it shows the moment you start using it. One of my favorite features is the Bluetooth OBD2 sensor. Not having a cable permanently plugged into the car makes a bigger difference than I thought it would. I can be outside the vehicle, hood open, moving around, and still running diagnostics or resets without being stuck in the driver’s seat. The scanner itself runs Android and has a bright, easy-to-read display. I’ve used it for battery tests, service resets, and general diagnostics, and there’s clearly a ton more under the hood. When I pull a code, it can open a browser and help me look it up right away, which makes troubleshooting a lot easier. The only downside here is the UI — it works fine, but it could definitely be cleaner and more intuitive. This is probably more tool than most casual DIY users need. If you’ve got one car and only want to read codes once in a while, this is overkill. But if you maintain multiple vehicles or like doing your own work, it starts to make a lot of sense. The TPMS reset feature alone is a big plus for me since I run different wheel sets with their own sensors. I haven’t pushed every service feature yet. I only have two vehicles at home, and since they’re still under warranty, I stick with dealership servicing for now. Once that warranty is gone, though, this is exactly the kind of tool I want on hand so I can handle most of my own maintenance. 👍 What I liked: • Wireless Bluetooth OBD2 connection • Works with multiple vehicles • Bright Android-based screen • Tons of diagnostic and service features • TPMS reset is genuinely useful 👎 What I didn’t like: • Interface could be more polished • Overkill for a single-car DIY setup • Price is hard to justify for light use 💸 Value: If you’re just checking engine lights once a year, this is probably too much. But if you work on multiple vehicles or want near-shop-level diagnostics without paying shop-level prices, the value is definitely there. 💡 Final Thoughts: This thing is packed with features. It feels like a serious diagnostic tool rather than a gimmick, and it’s clearly aimed at advanced DIYers or small independent shops. Not for everyone — but if it fits your use case, it’s a beast.

Although this OBD2 scanner is for home mechanics and DIYers, it is a professional grade tool and this is obvious as soon as you zip open the case. Pros: - Auto detects VIN and vehicle details / trim levels. - Performs comprehensive health checks and can uncover faults that aren't triggering dash warning lights. - Able to trigger actuators in fuel pumps, injectors, windows, etc. - Performs the following maintenance functions: Oil reset, EPB reset, ABS bleeding, BMS reset, SAS calibration, Airbag reset, DPF regeneration. - Supports live data monitoring with freeze frame - Magnetic Bluetooth dongle is pre-paired with Ancel unit removing the hassle of cables. - Magnetic dongle attaches to the back of the Ancel unit - Rugged rubberized casing feels more like a military tablet - 7 inch touchscreen - Protective hard shell carrying case - WiFi updates are free for life and work over both 2.4 and 5GHz WiFi or mobile hotspot - Reports can be exported as PDFs or printed via network connected printer Minor Cons: - May have issues with detecting older model vehicles - Requires internet connection for initial setup - Way beyond a simple code reader - this device has a lot of functionality This is essentially a professional grade wireless code reader with almost all the bells and whistles. Great product!
