Mystic Dreamer Tarot

After many weeks of searching for the perfect deck, I reluctantly decided upon this deck, unsure of whether this deck was what I was looking for. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I received the deck in the mail. It is perfect! The artwork is gorgeous. Each card is heavily detailed. Enchanted, I spent a few hours merely looking at each card and examining the detail. My only complaint is that the artwork could be a bit bigger. The gold border takes up more space than I would like it to. The cards themselves seem rather sturdy. I've had cards in the past made of flimsy material, making the decks only good for so long. However, this deck seems to be made of stronger material. It will most likely last for quite some time. The book that comes with the deck is much better than I expected. My previous deck came with a very tiny paper book, giving one to two sentences explaining each card. This book, not only gives card meanings, but it introduces tarot, illustrates spreads and allows for the reader to make notes. It's quite the nifty little thing! All and all, I would definitely recommend this deck!

The artwork is obviously stunning. It is full of interesting symbols and motifs, making this a wonderful meditation deck. I have done several readings with it, and found it to be a very personal deck or one for introspective readings, rather than a deck for more mundane matters, which is what I suppose the author and painter intended with it. It is very dreamy, need I say, and conjurs up interesting impressions and senses. The cardstock is good and it is of normal size, compared to some of the larger and thinner decks I've purchased recently (I have a celtic tarot which is large and difficult to shuffle and the Favole which is narrow). Definately worth the money. The companion book was an interesting and pleasant shift from the usual how-to books, encouraging meditation as a means of mastering the cards. A must for any collector, but would suit the reader as well. I would not, however, recommend this to beginners.

I love this tarot deck--it is inspiring and beautifully done. I own many tarot decks and this is one of my favorites. To give you an idea of my taste, I really love the work of Kris Waldherr (Goddess Tarot) and Karen Mahoney (Tarot of Prague, Victorian Romantic Tarot,etc). I really like the Queens in this deck, especially the Queen of Cups. Also, the Temperance card is lovely, and very evocative. There aren't really that many decks that you want to use regularly, that really speak to you, but for me this is one of the decks I USE and don't just enjoy for the art work or the gimmick. That said, I DO think the artwork is exceptional, and touches the subconcious with it's poetic moons and landscapes. I recommend this deck, especially for women. There is something sensual in the images, and I think you will enjoy the journey and discoveries that it will help you to explore.

I love this deck. It's beautiful and the pictures are really explanatory for the readings. It's a very accurate deck so if your looking for an answer it WILL tell you ready, or not. It's my first deck, but it was so easy to learn. The pictures just called to me. I thought it matched me well because the artist's story was very similar to my own artistic journey. After that I fell in love with them and I think you will as well. In conclusion I definitely recommended this deck if you are a beginner, experienced reader, or even just a collector.

I have mixed feelings about this deck. I do love the style but the images fall flat. Something is missing. Also, there is a certain melancholy about this deck which i didn’t appreciate. The guidebook is ok, but not Barbara Moore’s best. I am just not impressed. I do like the borders but they make the rest of the image small.

The title of this deck really suits it. I was struck by how much the photos of cards available on the internet to advertise this deck really reminded me of my own dreams; because of that, I was pretty sure I would be able to interpret them without needing a book. Of course, when I did a reading, I checked my impressions against the book's descriptions, and they were the same. This is one of the prettiest decks I have seen, and it does seem to read rather well, too. The other reviews here pretty much say it all. Like another reviewer, I wish the borders were slightly smaller, so the pictures could be larger -- but the borders are still lovely. My only real complaint is that the cards are very thin, and I feel I am going to have to be extra careful not to damage them or wear them out.

I LOVE this tarot deck and book. I have other tarot decks that I either don't connect with, are too large for my hands or are so cheap feeling that I cant bring myself to enjoy using them. This deck is just the perfect size, and the perfect feel. The pictures on these cards truly talk to me. I am able to look at them and know what the card means. Unlike other cards that you look at and have no idea what they are about, the symbolism on these cards is perfect for me. The book that comes along with these cards is the best book I've ever received with a tarot deck. The general symbols are explained in the beginning of the book and as you read about each card, some of the hidden symbolism is pointed out to you. I also like that there are questions for each card to make you think a little bit more about the card and also to understand what questions you might ask with the card. The book also lets you know in easy to follow language, what the cards represent when they are reversed. I cant say enough great things about this deck. Finally I've got "THE ONE!"

If you're new to tarot, the book that comes along with the cards is a great guide! It has a lot of spreads to help learn the system. The cards themselves have great energy and I had cards flying out of the deck when I first shuffled them - unusual because it's not over-sized and fits perfectly in the hand. The cards themselves have great energy - the cards which show up are so appropriate, and they also allow for intuitive readings since there's a good amount of detailing in the cards. Overall, love them.
