Multiple LED projects run on these. The only way to flash these is with the USB programmer (https://a.co/d/geiFpVR) which works perfectly with these. You only need one programmer because you only use it while flashing the software onto the ESP-01.

The little 8266 boards have their uses, but the hassle of wiring them up to program them precludes many from using them for simple WIFI processing. This board takes the work out of wiring them up and allows ease of use to be the watchword. I use these to add WIFI to older Arduino Uno's and Nano's when I want a remote sensor for outdoor weather, or to check for stray light or sound in haunted houses.

Drive with a proper 3.3v regulator, and you can then drive MOSFETs for LEDs, and have WiFi control, in the tiniest little package possible.Be sure to "socket" your project in the event you need to re-flash the module, and be sure the module isn't obstructed by metal etc for WiFi operation. I have several of these controlling lights and other projects around the house...

Got two packages of 5. Came shipped like they were stored under a refrigerator prior. Every single pin severely bent. Carefully bent pins back and programmed. 8 accepted programs. I loaded mem check ( all 1MB), Blink, and wifi sketches to check antenna. One had a dead short through the ESP chip. Another will not connect or accept AT commands even after reflowing pins. No idea on longevity. Not sure if it's worth it to send back/replacement as I'll just get the same back. If you need every single one; I'd advise to order extra.

I got these to have wifi on my Prusa Mini and these worked great. Only thing is I have to reboot tget the wifi to connect.

I have programmed many ESP-01 modules. All five modules from this supplier did not work. One clue was the printing of the pins on the backside was missing. Another clue was when I plugged the module into the Diymore.cc USB to ESP-01 adapter a red led light turned on. Alas, I didn’t check them out until it was too late to return. This is the first vender that supplied me faulty ESP-01 modules. Caveat emptor.

I purchased these to go in modified, outdoor motion sensors. The integration into the sensor was quite simple and Tasmota firmware and MQTT made home automation system integration a snap. The issue I had with this module was very limited WiFi range. Even after altering my circuit board to ensure that the antenna portion of this module was not covered, I needed to add an additional access point close to the sensor. All other IoT switches, plugs and sensors had sufficient signal strength so there is something about this module and its design that limits range.
