Solid metal Spitfire Single Ball Wind Rocker/Spinner. Supplied bare metal, designed to rust naturally

Nicely made with crisp detail on the plane. I elected to paint it rather than let the bare metal finish go rusty. I used an acrylic automotive primer followed by Ford Mercury Grey (three coats) followed by a matt acrylic varnish to stop reflections and keep the silhouette appearance. This has worked very well. I also made a modification to the cup part by drilling a drain hole in there to stop water accumulating and glued a hard plastic cap on to the spigot that supports the rotating upper part in order to minimise wear and corrosion. The whole lot is supported in stone block so it can be moved to any location whilst remaining secure rather than simply poking it into soft ground. It certainly performs some interesting aerobatics when the wind gets going but the top has never come off. It would need lightning strike ( or an ME109) to do that.

This is fantastic!!! I know it’s supposed to rust naturally and I have other garden ornaments that did. But I sprayed this in Satin Black and it looks just awesome! So well made and the way the light catches it especially through the cut outs is the icing on the cake.

Got the spitfire for father's say and love it placed it in front of my wild flower garden ones the poppies open will look even better great quality metal will be ordering the Lancaster next I think..

Looks great in the garden and even better over time as it tarnishes. Amazed that it has stood up to all storms.

I really liked the quality of this item good weight to it easy to install I painted mine as I wanted it to be bright for my granddaughter I also did what one of the other reviews said and drilled a drainage hole I also drilled a hole on top off the wall used a resin to make it steady I would definitely recommend this item! I'm adding this to the review if you want it to move with very little wind I added a small ball-bearing to the part that goes into the cup it is spinning now with very little wind I just used a good quality 2 part resin to attach it !

Saw this at a much more expensive price in a garden centre. A great gift for aeroplane enthusiasts.

I purchased this spitfire as a present but it arrived bent. I contacted the company and got a reply in speedy very professional, replaced the damaged part. First class customer service. Very pleased with the item as was the happy recipient and would purchase again from this company again. Value for money and a nice addition to the garden. One happy customer.
