White Anchovies in Oil 1kg

We first had boquerones in Spain a couple of months ago, limed them so much we went to Sainsbury's and bought some ( 3 packs for a tenner). Then I saw these and wasn't very convinced they would be any good considering the low price. How wrong was I! These are absolutely delicious and great price too! Having a kilo means that you can be more generous with servings plus you can try different recipes. Plus the health benefits of white anchovies and far lower mercury levels means you can eat these every day. Just wish my son wasn't such a gannet, he loves these with nicely toasted French stick. Give these a go, you won't be disappointed.

Best taste, marinated anchovies, best quality, good sizes, everything! Delivered nicely with a pack of ice on top!

White anchovies with a very distinctive and pleasant taste

Beautiful and tasty but beware they delivered early when I was not at home.

They taste just as lovely as the artisan super expensive tiny pots of anchovies you get in the big supermarkets . Contrary to another review here that had me worried, they’re marinated in oil and they taste lovely . Only issue is .. nobody in the house likes them but me and I have a bucket to eat by myself in the next few days until they’re no longer fresh and ok to eat . Challenge accepted 😂 I’ve just bought a food vaccum sealer so I can divide the massive amount and vacuum pack it and make it last in the fridge and open wee packets when I want some as opposed to freezing it , as defrosting anchovies makes them go mushy . Wish me luck . I’ll definitely be ordering again . Really really top tier taste and quality .

+ First batch I got was superb, we thoroughly enjoyed them. Salty, great on salads and on a napoli style pizza! - The second batch we got was awfully packed and shipped! Some of the packages we got were severely compromised, but still hopeful, my partner and I tried out one of the salvagable ones. Big mistake, as we got a serious stomach upset after trying them and were sick for a week - and our canine too! 🤢🤮 - Worst part is we bought 5 kilograms of this stuff and now have to throw it all out. BUYERS BEWARE!

I rarely write reviews but these anchovies are worth a 5* review. The taste is just right, not too salty or too much vinegar. Perfect as accompaniment for tapas or meze. They are very tasty and we will certainly be buying them again.

Really nice product and reasonably priced, was surprised at some of the sizes you get in there, some right woppers! Great in a Caesar salad!
