Over the years I have been to numerous barbers & hair dressing saloons, have paid £10 to even £100 for a pleasing hair cut (+ the obligatory tip, happy or not) and always left totally dissatisfied. Sadly, in my experience, over the past 30-40 yrs (and these have been some highly ranked/reputed London salons & You Tube featured stylists) they have been a complete disappointment. Show them all the pictures and have all the discussions (to which they will nod 'yes' to everything) and you will still leave the salon with only what the stylist knows how to do ('cookie cutter') or, worse still, where their ego takes them. Certainly won't be what you want. I only mention all of the above as my age group (50-60 year olds) have to also deal with the challenges of ageing gracefully and hair loss/growth, so how much/how little & how it's styled becomes a big deal. Good news is that, for any age group, this is an excellent and very well engineered clipper/trimmer. Expected from a reputed brand.. If you are frightened of the thought of a 'buzz cut', you can start with the 8 guard that leaves a nice amount of hair on top to play with and also, if need be, you can brush hair forward to complement (or hide) the receding hairline or 'widows peak'. Very easy to use (just run it all over your head) and done. Then decide how sharp you want the sides to be. (Personally, I use a beard trimmer for my sides to get better control and sharpness to keep those wiry greys tight & in check) All very easy to do and loads of help on You tube. Going by the average price of even a barber cut , you will break even in a few months and have the pleasure (very therapeutic & satisfying) and control of being the master of your own hair look, as you want it and when you want it. (Talk to yourself cost free in the mirror if you do still miss the chats with a hairdresser!!

I’ve been using the Wahl Rapid Clip for pre-shaving my head and tidying up my beard, and it handles these tasks well. While my previous clippers might have offered a fractionally closer cut, the Rapid Clip delivers all the closeness I need for my routine. The build feels more substantial and better made than other clippers I've used, which is a definite plus. It also comes with a soft, compartmentalised zip-up case, which is a vast improvement over the usual flimsy drawstring bags and means it's kept secure and tidy when not in use. The accessories provided with the clippers feel well-made, although I haven't had a need for them myself, so can't comment on how they perform in practice. Cleaning is straightforward with the brush supplied, even if it does take a few extra passes due to some gaps in the bristles. A couple of drops of the provided oil after a few trims keeps the blades running smoothly. I haven't needed to recharge it yet, which suggests a decent initial charge for light use. For someone looking for clippers for regular, quick maintenance tasks like head pre-shaving or beard trimming, these are a solid choice. Owned for over six months. Used them for beard trimming and for my wife to trim my hair. So far great. They come with a lead that has a plug with a detachable set of pins. The ones I received are a three pin UK but I am guessing it is possible to get EU or US style pins. The blades seem to be sharp and cut cleanly, no pulling. They are a lot quieter than my old ones (which were a set of cheap Chinese clippers from Amazon) and the blades sharper also the motor in the Wahl seems a lot more powerful. I like the little arm at the side to adjust length and the clippers came with a good set of varying length of clip on cutting combs, a pair of scissors and a proper hair comb. The cutting combs are a little difficult to remove, as once clicked on they lock very well and I am concerned to place to much force on the plastic retaining clip/sprig. Cleaning is easy and a small cleaning brush is provided. The design of the Wahl cutting head differs greatly from my cheaper clipper, which by the looks of it they will be easier to clean and thus avoid the demise that the old set suffered. They come with a bag, sort of wash kit in style. It is very useful as it not only has room for all of the Wahl rapid clippers and attachments but also my smaller Wahl trimmer, their attachments and more besides. So far very happy with my purchase but I will update once I have had them a few months.

The blades constantly catch the skin, which makes trimming genuinely painful rather than just uncomfortable. On the closest shave setting, it feels like the device is tugging and scraping instead of cutting cleanly, to the point where it’s barely usable. Trying to do any kind of detail work, especially blending or fading facial hair, is practically impossible because the clippers don’t glide smoothly. Instead of giving a precise trim, they snag repeatedly, which ruins control and makes the process slow and unpleasant. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend these to anyone looking for a comfortable or precise grooming tool.

Das WICHTIGSTE zuerst: Wer dieses Gerät kaufen möchte sollte einen Adapter für UK-Stecker zusätzlich kaufen! Nun zum Gerät: Das Gerät kommt wie auf den Bilder schon angekündigt mit sehr viel Zubehör daher (das ich leider nicht brauche). Eine schicke und recht stabile Tasche ist auch dabei, welche wiederum praktisch finde. Zum Schneidverhalten kann ich sagen das sie in etwa so gut ist wie meine alte Wahl 300 die ich jetzt seit 12 Jahren mein eigen nenne (ich hoffe das diese auch lange hält) und die in manchen Situationen einfach nur zu Unhandlich ist. Die Lautstärke ist für eine Haarschneidemaschine durchschnittlich, doch das Schnittergebnis Überzeugt! Was mir sehr positiv aufgefallen ist, ist das geringe Gewicht, da ich diverse Akkumaschinen und auch die Wahl 300 gewohnt bin ist dieses "Leichtgewicht" schon fast ein Spielzeug. Für jeden der hier also ein gutes und vor allem wertiges Gerät sucht gebe ich eine klare Kaufempfehlung.
