Aesthetic Open Heart Watch: Beautiful & Great Value for an Automatic
First Impressions: The watch is very beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the watch upon first opening it. Everything from the texture of the watch to the color, raised roman numerals, and layout is striking. The case finishing, which is polished stainless steel, contrasts beautifully with the minimalist matte-like dial. The open heart action is a mesmerising addition in an otherwise elgant watch. The seconds dial sweeps, appearing virtually smooth due to its miniature size relative to a traditional (third) seconds hand. The logo sits nicely on top of a pyramid stud texture, providing depth and adding a tailored look to the watch. The craftsmanship exceeds my expectations for the price and I am pleased to add this watch to my collection. The leather strap that comes with the package is of great quality and compliments the watch. I am pleased to say I was suprised as the strap is much better than the leather strap on my more expensive Orient Bambino 😂 I opted to replace the OEM strap with a third-party dark green leather strap and I was dumbfounded at how beautiful it turned out. I would 100% recommend those buying this watch to install a strap that matches or is complimentary to their dial color as it brought out unexpected depth and beauty out of an already solid watch. The watch sports mineral glass, so definitely be careful with stratches in passing or doing activities that might damage it. I use this watch primarily on special or formal occasions/outings so that is not a deal-breaker for me. The watch is on the larger size for a dress watch which makes it a little more bold but retains formality. The movement is a Miyota 82S0 (21-Jewel) rated at -20/+40 seconds a day. It has a power reserve of 42 hours. It is a skeleton version of the model denoted by the "S" in the movements model name. It is a good workhorse movement that is reliable and easy to service if needed in the future. The watch is comfortable out of the box and best (in my opinion) with a leather strap. It runs well and is nice to use in all events, casual and formal. I've had many of my friends and family compliment it. I love this watch and can't help but look at it throughout the day. No battery is needed, it simply runs on the user. The lume is a nice addition— albeit, purely aesthetic serving no functionality as it is only on the dots adjacent to their corresponding roman numerals. It is a beautiful watch that punches above it's price 10/10 would buy again great watch.

Fossil Townsman - Auto for a good price
I absolutely love Fossil watches, or at least, the ones I own. I was quite happy to see this on go on sale about a year ago now. Of the four Fossils I own, I think this is my second most worn, and for good reason, too. Now, the colors are actually much darker in-person than in the pictures online. In fact, when it arrived, I thought I was sent the wrong one. The band is a very dark brown, and the face is blacker with gold accents. The skeleton center is also gold tone. The skeleton face really is beautiful. I think this is actually my most-complimented timepiece, which is funny considering it's on the "cheaper" end of my collection. The watch is very comfortable, in reality. If you have a small wrist, this watch will a) make your wrist look tiny and b) most likely catch when your hand bends upward. Hence, I tend to wear it a little farther up on my wrist than my other watches. Due to its width, it isn't thick, so it keeps a slimmer appearance while having automatic movement. It also isn't heavy at all and feels great on the wrist. Now for those who don't know, automatic watches are different than battery-powered ones. There are two ways to "charge" an automatic. Either by manually winding the crown, or by simply wearing it and moving around. The power reserve isn't listed for this Townsman, but I believe it has about a 24-36 hour reserve, which is great considering its price. My only complaint is that the second hand doesn't always stop when trying to set the time, no matter which direction I move the hands when setting. Sometimes it does, and sometimes it just doesn't. It didn't some with a manual of any sort, either. As for actually keeping the time, the Townsman does a great job. Funny enough, the Townsman keeps time better than my TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 5, though the latter has a longer power reserve (I also probably need to get the TAG serviced, it's been a while). Overall, the Townsman delivers looks and time comparable to that of (sort-of) luxury brands for a fraction of the price. I highly recommend it.
