How to Build a Motorcycle: A Nut-and-Bolt Guide to Customizing Your Bike [Inman, Gary] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. How to Build a Motorcycle: A Nut-and-Bolt Guide to Customizing Your Bike Review: Great Overview of Building a Custom Motorcycle - I am making plans to build a Harley-Davidson Sportster for my first custom build and picked this book up after seeing it on the Sideburn Magazine Instagram feed. It's a great overview of the process of building a custom bike, touching on all the major aspects of what you might get into. The information in it is applicable to pretty much any bike...for more specifics you'll want to get the service manual for your bike plus more detailed references on the project you're tackling (metal fabrication, welding, painting, etc.). This book could easily be twice as thick and still not go real deeply into any one area. This book is also beautifully illustrated! The only photos are in the section at the very end showing some different finished motorcycles as inspiration. I like the illustrations vs. photos...they captivate my imagination more than a simple photo does. I can see this being a reference that I refer back to often while working on my build. Review: New learner - Going into the motorcycle scene , this book helped me learn about different builds and how motorcycle parts work. -specific for those who wish to make their own build -helpful in familiarizing yourself with motorcycle parts and models -provides different styles of motorcycle builds -easy read and provides pictures for better understanding

Lot of information packed into this book.
I own 34 bikes currently. These include dirt bikes, choppers, mopeds, scramblers, and high-end touring bikes. After 40 years of messing with bikes, I've gotten pretty jaded with motorcycle books... Loved this one! Packed with information, very cool illustrations, and I've already learned new tricks and techniques. Definitely worth the price!

As expected, packing could have been even better, but wasn't or uncareful bad either

I don’t read many books, it takes a rare one to keep my attention. This one did, I knocked out the nearly 200 pages in a couple of days. Thank you to Gary Inman to writing this book.

I have tinkered with and customized a few motorcycles now and I still enjoyed flipping through this book. There is a lot of insight tidbits from how to swap forks to paint finishes and styles or even how to build your own gas tank.the illustrations are very nicely done in almost a blue ballpoint pen style and the back of the book also includes some photos of other people's builds. Very interesting book and I recommend it to anyone who likes motorcycles.

Great book even if you’ve already built a motorcycle already. Wonderfully illustrated.
