Buzzy really works to reduce pain for injections! After years of negative experiences when my son had to get vaccinations or blood draws, we felt like we had tried almost everything to face the reality of getting shots and blood draws when needed without pain, fear, and the worry about pain and fear. He is extremely sensitive to pain and by the time he hit the teenage years, his anxiety about getting a shot was through the roof. Prescription numbing cream, distraction, bribes, talk therapy, the Shot Blocker, Valium... you name it we had tried and failed to make getting a shot a tolerable experience. He had learned about gate control theory of pain on his own and was eager to try Buzzy. I was skeptical. But willing to try Buzzy on the chance it might work. We decided to go with Buzzy XL. I’m not sure how much bigger this XL version is compared to the popular Mini Buzzy, but I’m glad we chose the XL. It is a great size for my on-the-smaller-side, skinny teen’s arm. Buzzy XL is approximately 2” wide by 3” tall. See pictures in my review for size reference to a U.S. quarter. Lo and behold, it worked!!!!! The ice pack combined with the vibration truly overrode and reduced the painful sensation from a vaccination he got this morning. Words cannot express how relieved he is for finding a pain-free solution to getting shots. I am beyond grateful that he can now get the vaccinations and blood draws he needs. I do weekly injections. I'm fine for every part of prep, but when it comes to actually inserting the needle, I can't make myself do it. If I have someone else insert the needle, it's totally fine and I can then press the plunger to distribute the medication. My issue is specifically with the initial insertion. The buzzy definitely numbs the site, you can't feel the needle at all, but it does not change the fact that I can't get past that brain block. I've even been prescribed propranolol to take beforehand in hopes that plus the buzzy would work. It doesn't. I still have to have someone else do it. I do not know what else to try. TL;DR, if you have pain associated with injections, the buzzy will work. If you have anxiety and someone else is doing the injection on you, the buzzy will work. If you have anxiety and you are doing the injection on yourself, it will not work.

Being an older woman and receiving injections for my bones, I discovered that the injections I receive are very painful. I don't know if it really helped or not tbh. My doc recommended we get one for shots and I laughed at the price at first. Ended up getting one anyway, still seems expensive once we got the product. Next time, I wouldn't pay more than $15.

I get Injections quite often, and I used this for the first time last week. It didn’t take away all of the pain from the injection, but I also didn’t really expect it to. It did, however, minimize the pain to where it didn’t hurt as much. Before using this, I would’ve rated the injection pain as a 6/10. While using this, I’d rate the injection pain as a 3.5/10. This was worth the money, in my opinion.

Highly recommend for any child or adult that's nervous about vaccs or injectable medications. It's been a game changer for me. This is my 2nd one purchased.

Didn’t seem to need this. The shots are so quick it seems a bit pointless for us. Drags out the mental process of receiving a shot which wasn’t helpful for my 11 year old. It is good quality and vibrates appropriately. Just not suitable for our needs.

I got this before my 6 year old started weekly injections. Because of this device, my 6 year old has been able to confidently administer his own medication without fear or crying. This device is a god send for kiddos who have to get any kind of injection!

Dieses Teil ist winzig und vibriert nicht besonders stark. Für 20 € würde ich es mir eingehen lassen, aber 95 € ist dafür verrückt. Wollte meinem Mann die Chemo-Behandlungen erleichtern, aber da kann er sich genau so gut eine elektrische Zahnbürste neben seinen Port halten. Die bringt wahrscheinlich mehr. Wird zurück geschickt.
