Bruder Toys - Construction Realistic JCB MIDI CX Backhoe Loader with Changeable Front Loader and Backhoe Loader Scoop - Ages 3+

I don't think this toy is rated for 2 year olds, so keep an eye on any toddlers that have access to this thing.. but ours LOVES this toy. Every little visitor to our home can't take their eyes off of it, either. We have a small excavator, a skid steer, and some workers to ride in them.. all from this company. Again, this item is kind of delicate- but hasn't broken yet- and may introduce choking hazards, and certainly introduces pinch points.. but it is a fantastic toy for the supervised child. Bonus points- if your kid approaches any kind of heavy equipment operator while holding his beloved back hoe, it kinda guarantees that they'll be sitting up in that real construction vehicle if there is a chance- those folks love a lil fan.

OK, I think I like Bruder Toys as much as my son. The realism and accuracy are first-class. Typical German quality and craftsmanship make these toys fun and durable. We have Bruder dump trucks, concrete mixers, excavators, and more. Yes, they are a bit more expensive, but they last. By this ,I mean...my 3.5 year old son will be enjoying these for many years. They are not silly looking and boys up to 10-11 years old would enjoy playing with them. So, we would rather buy quality German Bruders, than 3-4 cheap toys that will certainly end up in the trash. This Backhoe is fun for outdoors or the sandbox. If you are buying for inside play, get a Bruder toy with wheels. The Bruder vehicles come with a cool little catalogue that shows their incredible variety of construction and farming themed toys. You can't go wrong with these trucks. This is a fantastic toy. My 2.5 year old son has many construction toys, but none this detailed. The level of detail is really quite remarkable... and should be considering the very high price. The backhoe can be separated from the front loader and my son loves that. He will take the backhoe arm off and use it as a front loader for a few days then want the backhoe arm back on so he can excavate a new construction dig. I was initially concerned that the toy was going to break easily after reading some of the negative reviews.... he plays pretty good with it in sand and mulch for the past several months and it hasn't broken yet. It's one of the few toys he plays with pretty much every single day and he will ask for it pretty much all the time. This won't be my last Bruder toy purchase, I'm quite impressed!

My 2.5 year old saw this on a YouTube show and just had to have it. So Amazon Santa had to deliver. I thought it was a little pricey but once it got here I know it will last and is extremely well made. I will be looking into more of Bruders toys. I love that it wheels nice and the backhoe part operates as a real one would and you can feel the difference in the plastic. It’s not cheap. And I love that it is quiet and there’s no obnoxious sounds blaring out of a speaker. My son was SO excited for this toy. Thanks Bruder!

This backhoe was a gift for my 4-yr old son. The tractor wasn't out of the box for more then 10-min when the plastic hinge point on the back bucket snapped. He and I were extremely disappointed... Online it looked to be built pretty well so I was hoping it would last a long time before any parts broke. Also, 2 of the "hydrologic pins" stick in place making it difficult to manipulate the back bucket. Overall it's a good toy and my son is still in love with it despite the broken back bucket.

This digger/loader is a great toy! My 19 month old loves trucks and this is a very close replica of the real thing. It's great he has one to play with after seeing the real ones on the street. He plays with it every day. He has dropped it many times and it's held up fine. I also like it b/c the other Bruder trucks I've seen are quite large, but this one is a manageable size. Only thing about this toy is the arms get stuck in an up or down position and my son can't get them to move on his own. I have to pry it into place for him, and it does take some jiggling. But I still give it 5 stars b/c it doesn't really impact the ability to play with the toy.

We have TEN Bruder construction toys so this review is going to show up in all ten places. These are all very well made with extreme attention to detail. They are made of plastic and of course could be broken but they have a smart design and are reasonably durable. The mirrors on the Mack dump truck are probably the weakest item, but if they were to break off the truck would be otherwise functional. Toys break. We have the cement truck, skid steer loader, log truck, mack truck, tractor trailer with bulldozer, backhoe, two different types of excavators, an articulating front end loader, fire engine, and something called a tele-extender. These all have so much intriguing detail that the kids are immediately drawn to them. They all have moving parts that allow them to perform their real world functions. There are detents built in to hold position, so for example with the bulldozer, backhoe and front loader, the blades can be fixed and held in several different positions. As far as toys go, these are expensive but even a three year old understands from the detail that these are different that the coarser, simpler $20 equivalents. These clearly look like the "real" things. We've all had a lot of fun with these.

I bought this toy for my 3yr old son. This is a quality product. My son is interested in vehicles of all types, but especially the construction variety. This toy is very detailed and well constructed. The front bucket has two positions - up or down and it tilts. The backhoe locks in position when it is fully vertical, while the stabilizers lock in the up or down positions. The seat and steering wheel both turn 360 degrees. The tires are pliable - I'm not sure if they are made of vinyl or rubber - but it adds a measure of authenticity. I would definitely buy this item again and I will think of Bruder first the next time I need a truck toy.
