Great quality that works perfectly fine.
I just pulled a 3 TB HDD from my machine as I upgraded. It works fine, but I didn't want to burden the power supply anymore, while I do have an M.2 alternative. This enclosure is the best solution to create a backup drive that sit on the desk, and is used to have a redundant copy of all the data. The plastic/ metal combination is very well made and it's very sturdy. The charger gave me a hard time trying to install the socket head to the brick, but it wasn't a deal breaker. The USB cable has ample length and works great. The drive was a bit loose inside the container, but the manufacturer thought of that so they included a sponge with double-sided tape that you can put where it's needed, and it works. One more thing, the pamphlet doesn't tell you how to open the incluser correctly. Please slide it horizontally and don't pull it up (as the sketch on the pamphlet shows). It slides out.

Super easy install
Needed an enclosure so I could repurpose an old hard drive and this works perfectly. Super easy to install the drive in the enclosure. Just plug and play, no internal cables to have figure out. Only complaint is that the 2 foam inserts for keeping the drive from moving inside the box don’t seem to work. One’s too big and the other is too small. And very limited instruction sheet.

Simple, Sturdy, and Perfect for Reviving Old Drives
Simple, Sturdy, and Perfect for Reviving Old Drives I picked up the ORICO 3588US3 enclosure to reuse a few old 3.5" hard drives from retired PCs, and it’s been excellent so far. The tool-free design really does make installation effortless — you just slide the cover open, drop the drive in, and close it up. It connected instantly to Windows without any driver setup, and the blue LED indicator makes it easy to tell when the drive is active. Transfer speeds over USB 3.0 are right where they should be — I was seeing around 150 MB/s on a standard HDD, which is plenty for backups and file transfers. The included power adapter feels solid and delivers stable power for full-size drives, and the USB cable is a reasonable length for desktop use. The lightweight ABS shell isn’t fancy, but it’s heat-resistant and seems durable enough for sitting on a desk or shelf. There are a couple of small quirks to note: the top cover slides a bit loosely if you move it around a lot, and the included foam pad helps secure the drive better inside. Also, it lacks active cooling, so if you plan to leave it running 24/7, give it some ventilation space. Bottom line: this ORICO 3.5" SATA enclosure is a simple, inexpensive way to breathe new life into old hard drives or create a large external backup. Easy setup, dependable performance, and solid value under twenty bucks.

Excellent drive case with external power
I have a few of these SATA drive cases and never found a reason to look for any other. They open easily, drives slide in-and-out without much resistance, yet hold the drive firmly in place. Having the external power supply is critical for me to be sure enough power is delivered to the drive at all times and never rely on a USB plug for clean power. Also critical for me is having one of the most important yet simple features: a power off/on switch! I hate it when a drive starts spinning or becomes energized the moment it is plugged into a USB port and that's never a problem with this case. This drive case has paid for itself tin time and convenience. Definitely something I will be buying again!

Power On Failed After Using Only Six Times
I purchased this item in Dec 2024. After receipt, I installed a 3.5-inch SATA 3.0 drive (Western Digital Caviar Black with low mileage) into the enclosure, connected the enclosure to a USB 3.0 port on a relatively new Lenovo T580 laptop, attached the separately connected power supply to a wall socket, pushed the tiny power-on button, and the unit turned on (I think it showed a blue light next to the tiny power-on button). My laptop detected the external drive, and I could review and load all the files just fine. Used it maybe 5 or 6 times with two different 3.5-inch hard-disk drives. No problems. Today, I tried to review those files again, but the enclosure would not power on. No light. I tried several times and tried different wall outlets (all known to work). The unit would not power on. It has just been sitting unused. The enclosure is easy to use and tool-less, but I have to idea why the unit will not power on. I re-installed the WD drive and tried another one, a Toshiba. No power in the enclosure. That is poor reliability. Orico has been around a good while, but this is an unsatisfying experience. I don't know whether to try another Orico unit or another brand. Very frustrating since I have important files on the two drives I tried. Just passing my experience along for others.

O produto é muito bom, é uma marca reconhecida pela qualidade, preço razoável. Apesar de importado, veio rápido sem problemas.

Does exactly as it says on the box!. Fitted a 4tb drive, and works straight away. Its left on 24/7 and the drive powers off after a while to save power and hdd life. Perfect for external hdd backup drives. Probably not so good for things such as nas and xbox/ps as it does auto power off and there is no way to change that feature. Even under heavy use, the drive and case does not seem to get too warm, with the hdd reporting only 42c (wd blue drive). This can be run from any 12v supply, and i have powered this directly from my pc power supply, and am not using the included mains power supply (i just cut the end off the included psu and use the barrel jack and a 3a in line fuse to one of the molex outputs on my pc psu).
