Same as the regular 3M outdoor mounting tape, just in a larger, economy size! I use this stuff on odd surfaces, such as brick, to hold HEAVY objects. Once stuck, it will not just fall off. You may need to press hard, depending on the surface, and it must be clean! For example, if the brick is crumbling, then it will simply crumble off, and you'll have tape on the ground, with crumbs of brick on it. Smooth/flat metallic surfaces work very well. I've used this to mount things on plaster walls, but beware: it's STRONG! It could remove some of the wall if you're not very careful peeling it off. Never just pull on it. It must slowly peel off, but it does come off. It's a brilliant product! For durability: I have a set of brass house numbers - 5 of them with a dash - about 6" tall. Each number was applied to our home's brick...about 15 years ago! As of today, they're still out there... through 15 seasons of cold, hot, rain, snow, etc., and they're not even loose! Yet, if I wanted, I could peel them off and not harm the brick. I highly recommend this product for mounting projects

This stuff is great. The value is tremendous.... The price per inch is less than half what you would normally pay for this tape in smaller rolls. And at least in my case, I needed quite a bit of tape. I ordered the Kidkusion Toddler Edge Kushions (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000MHX9P4/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_89) which is a great cushion (we are using it to soften the corner on a brick fireplace seat),that comes with double sided tape (not very much). Replacing the tape that came with the cushion with this tape was like night and day. This fireplace seat goes across the whole wall and is made of old stone. It's smooth to the touch, but the surface is porous and irregular so most tapes do not stick well. The tape that came with the cushion was 'supposed' to be heavy duty, but it started failing right away. My 10 month old son grabbed the cushion and pulled it (with the tape) right off of the stone and started pulling it all the way down the seat. With this tape, it is very firmly attached. He's one and half now and he can't even budge it. Very strong tape that works as advertised.

This is strong, heavy-duty tape. It's good to find something you can count on to hold. I bought it for use outdoors, but it came in handy for an indoor problem first. I have a venetian blind that's just slightly too narrow for the window. It looks OK (covers the window), but the header of the blind is only tenuously making contact with the two brackets mounted inside the window casing. Unless you treat the blind with kid gloves, the whole thing will come crashing to the floor -- as the header slips out of the brackets. Fed up one night, I rolled out a foot or so of the mounting tape and securely adhered it to the top of the header and to the inside of the window casing. I haven't heard a peep out of that blind since. Clearly, this is not the ideal solution, but it will do until I can get a custom blind made. The Scotch Permanent Outdoor Mounting Tape has won a permanent spot in my fix-it bin.

This tape works very well in terms of both its holding power and its ability to adhere to irregular surfaces. I am using this material to hold up some woven fabric insulation as well as mount some plastic laminate to the underside of a workbench in the garage. It has only been two weeks, but there is no sign of separation or sag in either job. I am pleased overall with the product but I should warn you this tape has a very strong smell, very noticable even in a larger enclosed space. It isn't a particularly bad smell, just very noticable - almost as if they added fragrance to the tape in an attempt to mask a more typical adhesive smell. Hopefully it will fade over more time, but it is enough of an issue that I would not use any quantity of this tape in a living area.

I love this stuff! I have used it for years but the most recent best was I used it to attach adjustable screens over my school bus/camper windows. I did it on the side of the road in the cold & just put up one thinking "That will blow off!" It didn't so I slapped up the rest of them and 10,000 miles, 3 countries & everything from hanging with icicles to it being well over 110°F a lot of the summer the taped screens are still solidly in place. I wish I could speak as well for the screens themselves. Just editing to add I have bought more. This stuff is awesome! I live full-time in a RV and have odd bits of Grandma's old China and a few trinkets on these little essentially useless shelves...it all stays put and rolls happily down the road. Its even possible to remove most things...I never could get the screens off the bus, had to sell the bus with them on.

This product is the best. I found it a few years ago, and I’m now on my third roll. Works great! Has yet to disappoint. BTW: you will need a scissor to cut it because it’s that strong.

In my local store I pay 3-4x the cost per foot compared to this MASSIVE roll. I two way tape everything. A power strip to the top of my office desk. A power strip to the wall behind my desk. My battery charging station to the wall. My (super-light and flimsy) phone charging base to the top of my desk so it doesnt fall over when I dock a phone in it. My girlfriend hates this tape however. We learned the hard way that you need to kind of pull and twist when you want to un-mount objects from walls or it will rip all the paint and everything with it right off the wall resulting in a necessary patch job. As long as you are cautious about how you use this on painted surfaces you'll be fine. I even used this to attach a replacement side mirror glass to the original plastic backing. Even if I wanted to I couldnt pull that mirror off today. Amazing stuff. Thanks Amazon!

Great stuff used it in the past. Mounted a camera with it few years back and is still up. water and sun beating down did not make it fall off.
