Tougher than plastic
These Locking Cable Ties work as intended. I have used them in areas where plastic ties just don't last. These are much tougher than those. The ties are Stainless Steel and have not rusted outside. They are supposed to be: antioxidative, anticaustic, uviofast, high temperature resistant, cold resistant, high strength and easy to use. They seem to be good quality and have worked where I needed them. The cable tie size is: 11.8" x 0.18" x 0.01" There are 100 Stainless Steel Locking Cable Ties in the package. I would recommend these in areas that the plastic cable ties keep breaking on you.

Great product ... just misunderstood.
I can't believe all the people giving this item bad reviews for not understanding the product. I've included some pictures to help with my explanation. First, this item is intended to be used with this ... Eclipse 902-321 Stainless Steel Cable Tie Tool, or an equivalent. Personally I didn't want to spend that much or more, so I found an alternative online. I found a long pair of needle nose pliers worked to secure my heat wrap on my exhaust. Cut excess to around 1", grab the very end and twist it under to tighten. This may take a few attempts to get it right, it worked adequately for me. Hope this helps. It's unfortunate this product is getting poor reviews by people not understanding how it works.

Use with exhaust wrap
Great for exhaust wrap, pull tight never failed or loosened, wrap or exhaust fails before these will.

Very strong, extremely sharp, hard to cut.
For their intended purpose, these are probably great . If you are a hobbyist - these are probably not what you are looking for. For hobbies, at some point you will need an extremely strong zip tie. These are very very strong - but they have drawbacks for hobbyists. Because of how they lock, you will never get it perfectly tight, it always rolls back a millimeter. Under tension, these are effectively razors. You won't feel it happening, but when you look at your fingers later you will probably have multiple cuts. Finally, the straps are very thin and narrow, so they tend to fold between the blades when you try to cut them with tin snips. For the right use, I think they are probably awesome. For most hobby uses, you are going to probably want heavy duty plastic zip ties.

They work great
The ties are a good value. You have a hundred tie package, so you can practice on a few. All you need is a needle nose pliers and a good pair of side cutters. Don't bother with the tool that some offer, you can't get them tight enough.

Quality product and works great when installed correctly.
Despite some other reviews and when used correctly; these ties can be made tight enough to actually cut into a block of pine wood. And, BTW, one of the images showing the tie in a tear drop shaped loop is incorrect use. When looped correctly through the lock; it should appear as a circle with lock parallel to material and not a tear drop with lock perpendicular to material. And when installed correctly, with a pair of needle nose pliers to act as a leverage wench to 'wind up' and tighten steel tie, they can be installed very tightly on hoses, wire, pipe or whatever. And, no, when stretched; they do not act as a 'spring tight' tie like some plastic ties can do. And even plastic ties do tend to 'relax' over time anyway. . .

im glad i got the big bag
The steel band portion of the tie is tough! but the locks are not. im glad i got the big bag, 2 in 10 ties wouldn't hold. I'm not a fan of the ball and spring design for the locks, would be nice if it were a paw and lock design so it was physically held in place not relying on friction. But it was like 10 bucks for a big bag and it got the job done.
