As described, LED is a nice touch
These are photo-interruptor modules with attached circuitry to produce a robust binary output. It also includes a convenient LED for debugging. It can operate on either a 3.3 or a 5V supply. I have not tested them all, but at least the first 2 I used were fine.

DO NOT USE 5V!
This sensor works great, provided you only power it with 3.3v. Powering it with 5v will instantly fry it.

Great IR sensors
Used for robot car. Worked very well combined with some 3d printed slotted wheels and could track travel distance very well

Excellent Price Point
The price for these is oustanding. You could not work up the resistors and other parts needed to make this work unless you could somehow put SMD parts on a tiny, little board. Even then, it would cost a bunch of moola. These are fantastic at this price point.

Great little sensors.
Great photo sensors. Worked first time as expected.

Used these to make a cheap PID spindle speed controller (poor man’s VFD). Works well.

Just be aware that this doesn’t use any kind of coded pulses to eliminate false positives. It’s just a simple IR LED and photodiode with active low on beam break. Minus one star because ambient light can trigger it as I was hoping the photodiode was only an IR one. Use this for tinkering, but do not use it for an optical endstop on a 3d printer.
