So yummy! I have tried these multiple times now, and will continue buying them in the future! Whenever I get a craving for Tteokbokki, I'm not always able to get to my local korean restaurant. These definitely curb the cravings until I'm able to do so (of course instant will never be quite the same as restaurant quality). When prepared correctly, these turn out deliciously chewy with a thick sauce. DO NOT ADD TOO MUCH WATER!!! Make sure you poke all the rice cakes down into the water before you microwave it. I like to cover mine while cooking. I find this gets them a little more done and chewy. I also let them sit for a minutes in the microwave to give the sauce time to thicken up. If you try to eat it right when the microwave is done, the sauce is still too watery. This little bit of patience makes all the difference! As a bonus I recommend adding a little mozzarella cheese on top and letting it melt! These are sweet, but with a heat that will creep up on you by the time you finish eating. I love it!

I like to try different foods. It’s what I spend a good percentage of my paycheck on now, lol. I’ve been wanting to try tteokbokki for a while now and finally found some that was decently priced. I was afraid I wouldn’t like the chewiness of the rice cakes (even in noodles I don’t like that too much) but the texture of these rice cakes was delightful- addictive almost. The flavor of the sauce was very different from what I expected but still very delicious. It didn’t seem spicy to me but I have a high tolerance for spice. I think I think I tasted a hint of fishy/seafood flavor which was yummy and different from the flavors of my everyday meals. It was very good and I’ll be buying more of these cups! If you’re thinking of buying these- go for it! You can’t beat this price on amazon!

Ok so I think this is really cool to just experience tteokbokki (for all the k-drama, k-pop fans like me) But the flavor isn’t amazing just good. I think cooking it a little long makes it better and putting the right amount of water in is very important. I put too much in too many times lol. But good for price and just to kind of understand what it is.

The sauce is more spicy than sweet, and it doesn't really taste like the typical tteokbokki. However, adding some gochujang (maybe half a teaspoon) makes it taste so much better. I always add a hard-boiled egg plus some green onions when I have some available. This is what I do: 1. Add the sauce packet and half a teaspoon of Gochujang into the cup. 2. Add a bit of water so you can dissolve the sauce powder and Gochujang. 3. Add the rice cakes in. 4. Add just enough water to completely submerge all of the rice cakes, preferably under the line though so the sauce isn't too watery. 5. Microwave with lid loosely on for 2 mins. 6. Add a hard-boiled egg (optional). 7. Add green onions (optional). 8. Microwave for another minute, this time without the lid. (to thicken the sauce a bit).

$3 a piece is good pricing on Amazon. I’d say these are fairly spicy, and I eat habaneros as a snack. If you’ve never ate these before, the texture is weird so you can’t rate these badly based off the texture. I’ve had them before but from a different brand and they are gummy and chewy so if you have issues with texture do not buy these and leave a bad review!! The gummy texture is normal. I love these. These will be my go to.

Bought because I was craving good tteokbokki but couldn’t get gourmet and most popular options are really expensive. Great for the price and has a good balance between spicy and flavorful. I like cooking it with an egg to make the sauce thicker and add a little more flavor variety. Only complaint is that the rice cakes can cook unevenly sometimes so you might get a tough one every now and again. Not too bad though. Adds some element of surprise.

I missed tteokbokki so much, and this helped release my cravings. This is decent Korean tteokbokki. If you're living where you can't go to Korean grocery stores easily, this would be good option as available Korean street food. It's quite sweet as Tteokbbokki, so if you don't enjoy sweet tteokbokki that much, you would want to find other products. But I was dying to get any kind of authentic Korean tteokbokki, so it was worth it.

This snack comes in small cup containers, but there are quite a few rice cakes in each cup! It’s a nice, filling, spicy snack that has that unbeatable, chewy texture. I love that I can take it with me and I eat it as long as my destination has a microwave!
