On testing the unit it works well but once the sensor is triggered that its night time, it has to run its course, either 4 hours or 7 hours. This could be problematic if you leave it in your home, pop out for 2 hours and then on return have to sit there with this still flickering at you. The sensor does not react to the change back from night to day light so only useful if you actually go out for the full 4 hours. I thought it would simply switch back off once all the lights were back on, but appears its not designed like that and has to run the 4 or 7 hours from there on. You also need to get a 5 volt wall charge for this, it does not state what wattage it should be but I would err on the side of caution and not use your high wattage power mobile phone charges incase its too much for its circuitry and risk it catching fire - I used a very old low wattage SAMSUNG USB charger. Also triple check the voltage rate of your chosen charger as they vary widely and the writing on them is tiny. The unit itself is robust, appears well made and of good quality plastics and metals. When in "standby" mode waiting to go dark, for some reason some of the LED lights are alit - I can only assume because the power draw required for LED's is so low, even in standby mode they get enough power to them that some just light up a bit.

works well, bright, NB no usb adapter supplied (_1 star as no usb power adapter supplied) -nice and bright, and the 'timing' of the flashing is suffice to look 'real'. NOTE there is NO USB power adapter included (any usb/ phone charger etc will suffice) Note; that the timer button is rubbish, as is the dusk button- just leave set to ON and use a third party timer/smart plug. TIP -when using with a Smart power plug, this works just fine. Would also recommend some Smart Bulbs/ lights timer to complete the 'occupied house' appearance. GOOD enough to recommend this item over similar others.

Brilliant easy to use and it helps look like someone is in, even in winter. I plugged it in on a timer switch on the mains and the brightness performed as expected, no noise and looked like a TV from outside. I have another one of these and both work well., nice size and easy to set up.

Regrettable purchase. Claims that from turning itself on at dusk it has two settings, allowing the device to turn itself off at plus 4 hours or plus 7 hours. Neither setting works and the device remains on through the night until sunrise.

Why did you choose this product over others?: This tv simulator came with the cable to fit into normal iPhone style charger plug so can use straight away. Have not tried timing system on unit itself as wanted to use with timer switch I can set via phone app. So far all working well and have checked simulator from outside house and definitely gives appearance of a tv light flicker through window.

This is a perfect little TV Simulator. It works great. If you put it in a room and you look through the window from outside, it really looks like there is a TV on. Great safety gadget.
