Perfect low-card substitute to beans and chickpeas
While still high in proteins and fibres, edamame beans provide a low-carb alternative (even keto-friendly at 2.9g carbs per 100g) to other canned pulses. Even though low, the starch content can cause the brine to occasionally go a bit gelatinous, but this disappears once you cook them, or you can just rinse them. As for the taste, it's quite mild so it will replace regular beans or chickpeas without issues for healthier chili con carne, bean salads or hummus.

Gloopy mess
Really, you open it up & it looks like slime. Once you wash em off, you get some edamame beans which are just about edible.
