Will this work with xbox one headset adapter?

Yes it will!! Perfect sound quality and my friends, fellow gamers say they hear crystal clear sound while chatting. I do not get any brief static as noted in the previous entry. I didn't need an Xbox one adapter (saving $29.95) for it to work, I just plugged everything into it's place and it works seamlessly. I strongly recommend this product for both it's price and effectiveness.

Will this adapter work in an iPhone 4S? My other 3.5 mm plugs do not work in my iphone because of Apple's desire to keep it Apple.

I'm not sure about your iPhone 4s, but I can confirm that it works on my iPhone 5c when I use the "RØDE Rec" app. At first, it didn't work, but that's because I had "Playthrough" turned off under the "Input" settings. Once I turned that on, it starting working beautifully, both before recording and even after I starting recording! It doesn't work for my when I use Apple's "Voice Memos" app, though.

I can confirm that I personally have had no issues using headphones and a microphone with my PS4 Dualshock 4 controller. It is worth noting that the papers that came with this adapter clearly state: you MUST connect the headphones/mic FIRST before connecting the male TRRS to the controller/phone/receiver. If you connect it to the controller first and add the mic/headphones second, the system will not recognize the peripherals correctly.

The image hows 2x 3 pin 3.5mm male jacks. but the discription says 4 pin, which is it?

The image is correct. It is 2 x 3 pin male jacks. The female end is 4 pin. So it's like the description says: 3.5mm 4 Pin female to 2x3 Pin male 3.5mm
