Our oldest dog is going to be 10 soon and we have used this since we got them and never had a ticket problem. We have had ticks crawling on their fur in places we have camped where they are really bad but never had any latch onto them. They have really thick fur and we dont even notice that it makes their hair greasy or that there is any smell to it either. Works great!
