Each panel is 15 3/4 inches wide.

Can you see through this screen? we plan to use it for privacy for a nursing mom

No, you cannot see through this screen. The canvas material is solid and will provide total privacy. BTW, after about a year, some of the canvas edges began to peel from the frame of my screen, so check the screen and be ready to glue down the edges if you encounter the same situation.

How long are the connected panels?

Hello, This is a 3 panel divider. Overall width will be 47.25" but the usable width is approximately 38"

Does this screen fold flat? I need one that comes close to folding flat anyway so I can lean it against the wall when not in use.

The screen folds flat and is beautiful. However, you should know that it is not water-safe. you can not wipe it off with anything wet, as the paint will come off. I found out the hard way... Still, it is a good way to camouflage litter boxes and is an interesting addition to the room.
